GPS for 8525

Hi,
I am in a big delima. I wanted a GSM PDA phone with GPS. I think this device does not have built in GPS. Am I right? If yes then I need to spend $100 for bluetooth GPS and then $9.99 service and they are saying that I have to have a unlimited data plan.

Actually I wanted to buy this phone to use as a PDA more, but do not want to increase my monthly bill. Can somebody help in understanding the correct features? or what are the other options? Some forum said that verizon 6800 will have built in GPS.. Please help.

this phone does not have built in gps. You do need a seperate gps receiver. If you choose to do telenav or something of that nature then you will have a monthly bill, if you just get a gps receiver then no need for a monthly bill.

Can you suggest what kind of receiver and software would be very good for this phone and how much that cost approximately?

I would check that out for a full set of reviews.

Pricing is just gonna depend on where you get the receiver from.

You will also need external card to store maps on so that you can use.

I like http://www.buygpsnow.com/iguidance-3-gps-navi gation-software-i-blue-high-sensitivity-bluet ooth-gps-auto-on-off-for-pocket-pc-pc-and-ump c-free-arkon-mount-512.aspx

That's what I would go with.

elmuchahchos (or anyone else who cares to express an opinion), is there a particular reason you favor iGuidance over the Garmin Mobile 20? The SmartMount looks pretty slick.....

New to GPS, you seem to know your way around better than I......

TIA
