Help- TnTN wtih TMobile SIM card?

Before I buy a TyTN (not a 8525), does anyone know if I can use my Tmobile SIM card in a TyTN and connect to Tmobile as my carrier without the phone roaming to Cingular? This is a basic carrier connection question, not a 3G question ok.

I put my Tmobile SIM card in an unlocked Motorola V400 and it shows Tmobile as the carrier. I put the SIM in a Razr V3i and it roams to Cingular all of the time--and at high cost to me as a pre-paid user. Motorola says thats because the software in a V3i is set up differently when the phone has come from another country/market. Motorola wont help with any modification and offers no explanation as to why the V400 works perfectly.

So I want to know if the TyTN, coming from wherever it comes from will crea...

HTC version vs. Cingular version

I know that some people believe that the extra $300 is worth it to buy the non-carrier (cingular) version. I would like to make an informed decision. What are the differences and why is the HTC factory version that much better than the Cingular version?

Expandable microSD size??

Forgive my ignorance if this has already been discussed, but can't seem to find this info...not even in the online owner's manual. Does anyone know if the microSD is expandable to 2GB? Don't want to buy one if it can only expand to 1GB. 😉 Thanks!

Key/Touchscreen Lock?

This looks like possibly the best PDA phone I could ever want... (for a couple months)

However, can anyone say if there is a hardware key/screen lock that would prevent battery drain while holstered or in pockets?

Thx

Multiple calendar profiles?

Can the 8525 handle multiple calendar profiles? For instance, can you sync with a work calendar and separately be able to sync with a personal calendar without mixing up the two?

Car charger

Well, I finally figured out how to order it, the regular C/S rep put a note on the account that I will get the Premier discount on next, or the following month's bill. Let's see if it ships in "3 to 5".Anyone that has one now: does it come with a car charger, or does that need to be bought separately?

Ok, now when will it hit stores?

Not to be ungrateful, but I can't order from customer care or web. I have a phone to return (E62) so that I can get this, and I'm getting close to my 30 days.

So I ask, any idea when the stores will see a shipment?

AOL Instant Messenger?

I currently have a sidekick 2, and I been dieing to get rid of it since Jan 2006. I've been thru the Blackberry 8700c, Palm Treo 650, Cingular 8125, etc.

I right now have LG CU500 Phone + Sidekick 2 as a 2nd phone for internet.

I am very big with using AIM more then anything. My question is does this unit have AIM installed? Or is there any good versions of AIM to download?

The cingular 8125 sucked horribly with 3rd party AIM software, and so did the treo 650. I really want to combine my 2 phones into 1.

Someone give me some feedback please regarding instant messaging on this device.

??? review ???

The reviewer said he bought an "unlocked" phone. Does that mean the cingular version will not be as good? If not, that seems a bit pricey. What would the cingular version have different besides PTT?

Compatible Bluetooth with Caller ID?

Is there a bluetooth headset that is compatible with the TyTN that can display the name (from the phonebook) of the incoming caller? Being able to use th bluetooth display to dial from the phonebook would be a plus, but not a necessity.

I work for cingular

The 16th is a hit the store date. If that date doesnt happen like lots of launch dates dont it will be anytime. And dont ask reps because most of them will not know until it gets about 2 weeks away from launch time. They do not tell us. So dont ask us 3 months away when something is comming out we have no idea.
