Hello all,

I'm looking at switching to Cingular from Sprint and purchasing the 8525. My main question would be with texting, are the text messages threaded, which means does it show as a chat message? i.e. like the Treo 750?

although on both ends it says message sent. so for some odd reason they aren't making it to the recipient. anyone know why? could this be because i ran out from my allotted 200 messages? if so, i thought that i'd still be able to continue to text, though for 5 cents per/message. thanks

I am a newb with a 8525. I have a few questions.
Cant get some music stations,says "downloadfile" instead of playing in windows media player.unable to listen to my favorite www.kfjc.org. Also cant run youtube.how do u turn on the keyboard backlite?

I'm pretty sure I will be buying this phone-but I wonder what is real and not real regarding the data plans? Cingy rep pretty much says it's required to have the PDA data plan at $39.99 (no text msgs incl). I already use medianet unlimited on my SE phone and when I asked point blank if I can use my medianet plan on the 8525 she says yes, but I'd be charged if I accessed sites other than WAP. Question then is: how do you get to a site other than WAP if you have only the medianet plan? I'm thinking you can use the medianet plan and only access WAP sites..But if the need to access the full internet when not using wifi is necessary then upgrade to the PDA data plan? Does anybody out there know what the "real deal" here is? Thx!

Ok... So I am officially a newb. So be easy on me.

Would some one be able to teach me to do the following things.

1) I would like to get rid of that annoying vibration and message after every text message is sent. Please dont tell me just to download an editor and what to put in it because I wont get it. What editor do I get and how do I get that information to my phone.


2) I would like to know how to change my ALARM and Text Message ring tone.

3) I would like to know if there is a way to change profiles or anything of that sort.

4) I would also like to know how to get pictures and things from my computer to my phone.

How do I bluetooth pix, flixs, and tunes I have tried and it always says "sending cancelled" please help me 😲

I was having trouble with my alarm going off ;every single time i turned it on or had to reset. I was able to resolve it after coming across a thread that discussed deleting duplicate entries in the device using the memmaid software. This worked fine, but I have not been able to sync up with my pc since then. I don't know if one thing has anything to do with the other, but I was sure not to delete eny entries other then the duplicate ones. I've tried teh trouble shooting and so on and no dice.

Does anyone know where i can get insurance for my cing. 8525 because safeware tells me they do not cover pdas or phones or gps due to company loses

Well, 4 1/2 months into this unit, I like it a lot (when it actually does what it's supposed to). However, now on my SECOND device, due to flakiness, "it" seems to be starting over again. I had to hard reset 6 times before sending the first one back, due mostly to the notifications for calendar items not dinging. It happened last week on the new one, so I am somewhat concerned. Is there a program out there that can be installed that will effectively "save" all of the settings, everything from notifications to speed dial settings and everything in between? I fully anticipate the hard resets becoming more frequent, and 4 hours to reset everything is not my idea of a good time

Can someone give me the link to get the program to shut down running programs I don't need running in the background that takes up alot of memory and drains the battery please?? I can't find it in the threads but remember seeing it awhile back.

Can I connect the unlocked TyTN version of this phone to my laptop and use it to make calls through Outlook 2007. If so, how?

I have the 8525 from Cingular. It connects to my home wireless network no problem. The problem seems to be that it won't connect to any other wireless network. It will see the network, but won't connect to it. Like hot spots or even my work, sees the wireless connection but fails to connect. It just keeps on checking the next connection. Any suggestions?

I was wondering how do you use the 8525 as a modem to a desktop and to a laptop? Please help me!!!
