HTC TyTN / 8525 / JasJam (Hermes)

I just bought an 8525 and cannot get it to sync with my work email. The Cingular specialist says Lotus Notes is not compatible with xpress mail or outlook. I cannot seem to just auto forward my emails to another account to get around it either. Anybody know a work around I might be able to use? thx

i want to use my 8525 as a mp3 player for my car or use different head phones etc... does anyone know were i can find one
p.s. the razor miniusb adapter does not work the htc or cingular 8525 mini usb port is propriatry

AT&T has listed the 8525 on its site as upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.0 in Q3. This listing has the AT&T logo (versus the old cingular logo) actually on the phone. They are also selling on their site refurbished 8525's with the cingular logo on the phone but the description doesn't specifically say it is upgradeable. I contacted AT&T and asked if the refurbished ones can be upgraded. All I can get them to say is "it should be". Does anyone know definitively that the older 8525's can be upgraded or will it only be the newer versions with the new logo? (I am thinking maybe there is a firmware and/or other changes on this new logo phone).?? Thanks

-I have more minutes and rollover than I could ever use
-I mostly call my wife, so those calls are free

Why would PTT be useful? I don't fully understand it's benefits, given the above? Thanks to all.

I am ready to upgrade my account and buy the 8525. I noticed that Amazon had it for what seems like an impossibly low price compared to all the retail stores I have looked at. Has anyone had any experience with buying/upgrading phones from them or should I stick with an actual store?

Alright so i was accessing aim express and my it gave me a message saying that it had pop ups blocked.. does anyone know how to disable this feature?? any info is appreciated thanx

Has anyone else updated the ROM on there Cingular 8525/TyTn. The new ATT ROM seems to have some pretty good improvements.

So far for me its added the Push2Talk Feature which works really good as me and my friend both have the same phone and same update.

It also added better Bluetooth support and better Direct Push support.

So far So Good....

Any thoughts, anyone else used it? Using it?

I've read here on phone scoop that only some versions of the 8535 have java support. I haven't seen anything about which "versions" have it and which do not. Does the 8525 purchased through Cingular have java support and if not is there a way of installing J2ME on it?

Alright... so i tried to have one of my friends bluetooth me a pic and it would not go through so im tryna figure out if anyone knows how to get a program that will allow me to have this feature or if theres a way to enable it directly in the phone!!?? Any help would be appreciated thanks guys..

Does the ROM update for the 8525 work on the unlocked TYTN?

There have been a lot posts on sites about problems with the 8525 (or any other phone) after doing ROM updates. I thought I would share my process that may hopefully avoid some issues when doing updates.

To avoid any possible conflicts with hardware and software, try doing these steps.

1. Always backup critical data first
2. Remove any hardware from the device including any flash memory cards. I often even remove my SIM card. Restart phone if necessary.
3. Perform a HARD RESET to get the phone back to factory state. All phones vary on how this is done. Look in your manual or online for your model.
4. Make sure the phone is clear of all messages and at the ready.
5. Connect via USB to Activesync. DO NOT allow it to set up a profile....

Just got the 8525 and tried to transfer files from my razr to the phone through bluetooth. Each time I attempted to do this it said service not supported. Any way to get around this? Same thing happened with my bluetooth adapter for my computer. Any help would be appreciated!

Is anyone using Microsoft Voice Command?
1 - does it work thru the wired stereo earbuds
2 - do I have to have my phone unlocked and press one of the buttons (like voice dialing) to initiate a voice command?

What is the Mini SD Capacity for the 8525? What's the maximum?

I went to the HTC website and noticed there is a ROM update and it was dated 4/09/07... it is not the same version as the one that is on my Cingular 8525...Has anyone downloaded this yet and what are the updates that come with it.

alrite... so from reading other forums i c that u can view videos on the 8525... i tried downloading macromedia flash player 7 and 6 and still no luck... if neone knows how to resolve this issue it wood b HUGE!!!! thanks guys!!

i know i dont have to pay when i use the wifi connection so this is not a question concerning that

what i want to know is how do i know that i am using the wifi connection and not my medianet plan when i connect to the internet..

i never want to use the medianet because i have wireless throughout my house and throughout my school

Alright so i picked up my new 8525 today.. the phone is sick... My first PDA and i love it.. but i cannot figure out how to set my mp3s as the sms notification instead of the default tones that are DREADFUL in the phone! Any help is appreciatted. thanx guys

My phone wont let me, I don't have an internet package anymore so wi fi is my only access point.
