ive have done research on both of those and to me the main difference is the price..( not including the cam difference and the voice difference and the weight)

Can anyone really say why the 8525 is the better phone.. because i might just end up getting the 8125 because it will be so much cheaper, not that money is an issue, but hey... ya know..

I am also buying it retail(without a new contract) so the difference in price will very much be there...

3G's a pretty big difference, to me? If you're not concerned about speed and capability going forward, then there's not a lot of difference.

If you were going to buy a video game player, would you get a PS2 or PS3? PS2 is much cheaper.....

Me, I'm not buying a product the manufacturer obsoleted by introducing the New And Improved version. Rather spend more and be happier with it longer.

But it's a personal choice. 🙂

Without 3G, you are limited to connecting to the Internet at "about" 4x dialup speed (240kb or so-EDGE technology). With 3G, you connect at a minimum of 680 kb, which is DSL speed. The 8525 actually has an "advanced" form of 3G (HSDPA). So, when Cingular increases their network speed, the 8525 will increase to that speed automatically. Furthermore, if you have a wireless router at home, or are at a Panera, or anywhere with wi-fi, you can connect at whatever speed the wi-fi is offering. So, if you're buying a device that you want to use for a lot of internet activity, there's no comparison. If you want primarily a high-tech phone with a "functional" pocket PC, the 8125 should do just fine.
