T9 question

I'm not sure how to use the T9 ('Word') feature on this phone. I can change the entry mode to 'Word,' and it works alright, but sometimes it chooses a word that I don't want, such as 'adds' instead of 'beer.' I haven't figured out a way to change which word--or even to replace individual letters in the word. I don't think this was really explained in the manual.

SCH-A950 Review

Samsung SCH-A950 Review by Matt Hoffman (matthoff@cox.net)
The Samsung SCH-A950 is one of the worst implemented pieces of technology I have seen in recent years. The hardware has a whole list of nice features including stereo speakers, 1.5 megapixel camera, and bluetooth, but the software has been hobbled and poorly implemented by Verizon and Samsung.

User Interface
The user interface is very minimal with pull down menus instead of a graphical user interface. Many of the menu items are not in logical places. For instance, the menu for playing mp3 files is buried two levels down under a menu called, for no logical reason, "Get It Now". The user must go to this illogically named menu then into a submenu called "Get Tones & Tunes" then ...

HOW DO YOU INSERT THE TRANSFLASH CARD?!

Please someone!!! How do you insert this bloody card, I've been trying for like 20 minutes now! It seems to go in more with the connectors facing the upside (front of the phone), but it doesn't "click" into place!!!

This is REALLY frusterating!

I'm getting a 256 transflash...how fragile is it??

Best Buy is shipping me a 256MB transflash card...from the looks of the tracking it should be here tomorrow. I have a transflash reader, but how fragile is this little card? I've seen how small they are, but if used carefully can I add/remove it as much as I want?

Thanks

MP3 issues.

I purchased the Samsung SCH-A950 about a month ago. I am having problems getting the MP3 player working. I purchased all the correct hardware at Best Buy, but am having problems saving songs to the Transflash disk. I have been saving CD's to iTunes, Realplayer, and Microsoft Media player and none of them seem to allow me to save to the Transfash disk. I run Windows XP on a Dell D610 laptop and was told that it should work no problem???? Has anyone else had this problem or am I just doing something wrong? 😕 😢

How do I get my external Screen to preview the camera when i am about to take a picture

I have been searching endlessly...

When I enable my camera, I want the external screen to show exactly what the camera is picking up so I can take pictures of myself and other people and ensure the picture will be OK.

Any Help is greatly appriciated.

MP3 Playback Speed Issue and Skipping..

I asked this question in another forum, but got no replies, so figured I'd post here as well for input.

I've had the 950 for a couple weeks, and thus far have really liked the phone. I didn’t get the Transflash card for MP3's until this past weekend. Right away, I noticed a problem. My songs seem to have a few small skips in them, and the overall speed they play at is just a hair too fast-- but easily noticeable.

Has anyone else experienced anything like that? Could it be the Transflash card, or the phone itself?

I only have until tomorrow to exchange the phone, so I need input fast..

external screen question

1) why does the external screen go blank when you open the phone? when you make a call, the inside screen shows who you are calling and you can't see the date and time info anymore.

thanks

MP3's on a950

here's a really odd (and stupid) question.

I do not have a clue about the MP3 portion of this phone. Can anyone provide me with basic information on this? I never had a MP3 player and to tell you the truth, I am not even sure of what it is! I know it plays music...I like this phone and the MP3 player sounds like something I would really use. Any information on this portion (and other portions ) of this phone would be helpful. Thanks!

A950 Worth It????

Hi I currently have a Motorola E815 and am thinking of getting a Samsung A950? I really like my E815 but the weak vibrate/lack of airplane mode is really getting to me. I know that the A950 and E815 have all the same features(transflash, 1.3 camera, mp3 player). Has anyone gotten the A950 and wanted their E815 back??? Any feed back?
Thanks

8100 Reject

Finally gave up on 8100. Biggest piece of s**t I ever had. Wide open for Class Action Suit. Got the a850 w/option of a970 - 15 days. Question: how do you do voice dialing? No patience to read book. Thanx. 😎 😎

Beware of the poor reception!

I got this phone. It sounded great in the store. I got it home, and it got very little single in my house--anywhere in the house. I'd get maybe one bar, sometimes 2, with choppy calls, or calls that cut off after 30 seconds. Now with my LG 6100 and LG 5200, and Moto V60i, I never had a problem with reception in my house, even in the basement. With the Samsung, I get zero reception in the basement.
I took it back, and got the Moto 815, which doesn't look or sound as cool, but it gets much better reception anywhere in my house.

Voice Command

Phone works great. Better reception that 8100. However, voice calling is horrible. Keeps missing or goes to text. I found talking very low seems to work better, but no match for LG.

ITC411 Review

I guess that settles it - if ITC411 gave this phone a 1.5 rating (after using it all of ten minutes - and at that he thought he wasted too much time) then I guess it's a fact that this phone is no good!

I think they should give IQ tests prior to reviewers posting - then perhaps they would be more meaningful!

Which memory card to buy for A950?

It seems like SanDisk makes a million memory cards that all are the same with different names. The manual doesn't say which exact card i need, can someone send me a link? I think this site says microSD/transflash but when i look up that card it comes up as 2 separate ones. Thanks in advance, keeping my fingers crossed for Bitpim for this phone! 🙂

ringers

I've always been a Samsung fan mainly due to the fact that their phones have always been loaded with NORMAL rings. I've read in a few reviews this one doesn't have them. What's the real deal?
