Finally gave up on 8100. Biggest piece of s**t I ever had. Wide open for Class Action Suit. Got the a850 w/option of a970 - 15 days. Question: how do you do voice dialing? No patience to read book. Thanx. 😎 😎

I have only had the phone 2 days so I can't really judge battery life but reception seems to be equal or better than my old Audiovox 9900 which was pretty good when it came to reception. I think this phone is a steal epecially if you have the NE2.

I will be replacing my 9900 also with this phone. Could you keep me posted on all the pro and cons on the 950 as compared to the Audiovox 9900? I'm kind of undecided. thanks for your input.

Pros:
-The displays on the phone are very good, especially the internal display.
-The camera is pretty good considering the resolution isn't as good as the 9900.
-The Voice Command works really well and rarely makes a mistake.
-The sound from the stereo speakers is pretty good.
-The intenna! You don't realize how good it is until it is in your pocket and you bend and the antenna doesn't stick you in your thigh.
-The holster from Verizon allows the phone to be opened while still in the holster.
-Much smaller than the 9900.
-Record up to 10 minutes of video on the phone's memory. You could probably record even more but I don't have a MicroSD card yet so I don't know what it will record if a card is inserted.

Cons:
-The menus are so...

Does the outside screen bother you? Can you just say a number and the phone dials the number? How about the reception? My 9900 has never dropped a call! Thanks

I actually like the outside screen as well as it's controls. I like the fact that the screen is easy to read and that the buttons require them being held because it means that the display won't go on by mistake or the camera will not take a picture by mistake either like my 9900 did all the time when I didn't have the side key lock on.

The voice command works by holding the zero button, waiting a second and then the phone asking you to "Please Say a Command". For example, if I wanted to call my Mom I would say "Call Mom" after the phone told me to say the command. If the phone isn't sure of what you said it will ask you. If the phone defintely knows who you wanted to call the phone will automatically dial the call. You can also check the ...

Yea. I had the a970 and I didn't think it was worth the additional $150.00 over the a950. The a970 had dim displays and doesn't have as many options as the a950. The a850 display is craptacular and I didn't like the feel of the buttons.

Anyone know if this has call announce like the 8100? Also, what BT headsets are compatible. I have a Scala 500 and Moto 850, which had a lot of static with the 8100. 😛

It doesn't have a call announce feature like the 8100 but it has a better voice command system. You just say "Call..." and any number you want it to dial or any contact in your phonebook. I've heard the HS820 from Motorola and the Plantronics 510 works well with this phone.

YEAH, I did, BUT others on here have totally praised it, so obviously it is compatible, it just didn't work for me.
