Which memory card to buy for A950?

It seems like SanDisk makes a million memory cards that all are the same with different names. The manual doesn't say which exact card i need, can someone send me a link? I think this site says microSD/transflash but when i look up that card it comes up as 2 separate ones. Thanks in advance, keeping my fingers crossed for Bitpim for this phone! 🙂

look specifically for transflash, i think you'll have more look with that. you can also look for microSD, you'll get roughly the same number of results but slightly less. SanDisk makes the microSD aka transflash and also miniSD. the microSD aka transflash is what you need and not the miniSD. miniSD is slightly larger than the microSD/transflash. Also, miniSD can go up to 1GB but the microSD/transflash only goes up to 512 mb. hope i helped.

When you look up MicroSD or Transflash and you see two card pictured, what that usually is is the MicroSD or TF card itself and the adapter (looks like a bigger card but it's for putting the small one into and putting it into your reader). You will need the adapter along with the card to put it into your card reader.

Thanks for the help, now i know which card i need! AFAIK, the adapter comes with the memory card, and all i'll need to buy is a card reader to plug into my USB port, correct?

Side note, has anyone contacted Bitpim to see if we are on the list to be developed (maybe if we ask nicely they will prioritize this phone)? I'm so envious of my buddy who has his mp3s as ringers on his E815, apparently he got lucky though. I want some quality ringers!

Thanks again, Jason

No problem, Jason. and your right, all you'll have to do is buy a card reader to plug into your USB port.

Good idea to try to contact Bitpim. They may just get it on there quicker if they are pushed a little. Is is great to have those awesome sounding MP3 ringtones and it makes it so much easier (and cheaper) to have multiple ringtones on your phone so you can assign a different one to each of your contacts.

I just emailed Roger at Bitpim, and also i emailed RPI Wireless, apparently they are the biggest lender of phones to Bitpim. I'll keep you posted on any responses i may get!

Even though everything I read indicated support for only 128 or 256, I went for the Sandisk MicroSD 512 and it works just fine.

I was too impatient for mail-order, so I bought it at locally BestBuy for $69. Turns out that wasn't a horrible price based on other prices I've seen on-line. It came with a SD adapter.

That's the one I have. It is the same on that goes in the ROKR phone. That means you can buy it at any Cingular store. Price is also $69. Works great

I had no luck finding a trasflash card (larger than 12😎 ANYwhere locally. I was shocked to learn I could buy it at the Verizon store for $69 for the 512 and they would ship FedEx to my door in 2 days. Sold!
