Frequency in Central VA

I've read other threads about the frequency subject, but I found a phone that only has 900/1800/1900 MHz and not 850, so I was wondering if there is any way that it might work in Charlottesville, VA with Cingular. Thanks in advance!

Amoi Cell Phones

Does anyone have any info about Amoi cell phones? I've seen them posted on Ebay and tried to do some research as I am getting tired of the major American cell phones.

Which USA carrier for PDA and laptop while in France?

I will be following the Tour de France, so I will be standing along country roads watching the Tour go by. I want to have a PcoketPC/Phone with me so I can access the web and get updates on the race. Does anyone know which carrier I should go with to get the best service for this? I have contacted Telestial and they say you can not surf the web with sim cards provided by them???

Also, which carrier has the best card for my laptop for use in the French countryside? Would it be an EDGE card from Cingular?

I am considering the HP ipac 6135 from T-Mobile, does anyone have experience with it and T-Mobile in France?

I am also considering the new Samsung i730 from Verizon if it comes out in time. Does anyone have experience with Verizon in...

Need options for calling in Europe

I travel to Europe several times a year, as well as the Middle-East, and Far-East.

I've been told that being on Verizon's CDMA netork here in the US, keeps me from being able to just buy a cheap SIM card when I get to another country and putting it in my Moto V710.

So, is the best option for my occassional needs, just to buy a basic GSM phone that I can replace the SIM cards in?

If so, would any GSM phone work, or what is required?

Thanks.

NOKIA 6230i Help!!!

Please, if someone have NOKIA 6230i, can you look in mobile for the values of internal memory.

If you go to MENU then to SETTINGS, then PHONE, and then MEMORY, and then INTERNAL MEMORY.

When i look at my values is written:

Free memory : 21,1 MB
Used memory : 3,9 MB

When you do 21,1 + 3,9 you get 25 MB, but for NOKIA 6230i should be 32 MB internal memory(Is written in phone specifications)!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Please if someone have this mobile, please view your values and write down. Please.....

Hey guys, it seems many of you are intersted in the Japanese phones, and I've recently setup a new website at http://NewGMobile.com .

Unlocked Motorola C350 use in China?

Hi,
I've got a Motorola C350 that I bought in France last year, and have used in various european countries with local sim cards. I'm going to China in two weeks, and it looks like I could start a Cingular prepaid account and get a sim card, use it in the phone and roam in China. Alternatively I could buy a Chinese sim card, assuming it would work in the phone, which I understand can use the 850 or 1900 bands. Any advice?

Cell service in Japan--what to do?

I'm traveling to Japan next month and wondering if there is a good solution for a US traveler? I'm not sure if either a Quad band GSM phone or the new Motorola A840 CDMA/GSM phone will even work in Tokyo. Some sites say the KDDI has CDMA service but probably different frequencies than the US----I think the GSM carriers need UMTS capabilities---Rich and others help!

motorola a630

my wife currently has a nokia with two sim cards, one for the UK and one for the USA. to access the web using the UK t-mobile simcard and account, she had to manually insert the wap addresses for the sites she was interested in accessing (e.g. yahoo etc). and once that was done, all was fine.
she recently purchased a motorola A630 here in the US. after discussions with both t-mobile and motorola tech support, she seems to think that she will NOT be able to manually enter wap addresses in this phone as she did before.
does anyone know if she is correct in this?
she wants a phone with a qwerty keyboard that will work both in the US and the UK (different sim cards are ok) and that will provide web access. does anyone know of one if the m...
