Need options for calling in Europe

roadshow

May 31, 2005, 7:28 PM
I travel to Europe several times a year, as well as the Middle-East, and Far-East.

I've been told that being on Verizon's CDMA netork here in the US, keeps me from being able to just buy a cheap SIM card when I get to another country and putting it in my Moto V710.

So, is the best option for my occassional needs, just to buy a basic GSM phone that I can replace the SIM cards in?

If so, would any GSM phone work, or what is required?

Thanks.

You can purchase any GSM phone with the 900mhz nad 1800mhz frequency. Your best would need to check into international rates for each GSM company and see if they will let you do international roaming on a prepaid basis.
