is it possible to have high speed internet for my laptop though a cellular phone ?!

Hello,

I hope you will be able to help me.
This Summer I will be in Austria for a month and a half, but I will not be able to leave my work behind in the US.
I was wondering whether it is possible to continue to have high speed internet access on my laptop through a cellular phone.
Do you know of any carriers and phones that would allow me to do that ?

Thank you in advance,

Grazia

Moto V180 frequencies?

I'm an ATT gsm customer, looking to get a new phone and migrate to full-cingular status...

The cingular web site claims that the moto v180 "operates on 850/900/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS networks".

That doesn't sound right to me... 850, 900, and 1900? Without 1800? Is that correct? Isn't that strange?

What am I going to be missing if I don't have 1800? I do go to Europe on occasion (maybe more, my sister may be moving there) and will be going to Australia this summer. I'd like a global phone without spending a fortune.

Thanks,
Kieran

Will I cry in Argentina?

I just purchased a Motorola V551 on the Cingular system. I travel to Argentina frequently and have a Personal account in that country. What I am trying to find out is whether I will need to unlock my new phone to use the Personal chip when I am in Argentina or does Cingular even lock this phone. As a note, I have the international package with Cingular. Also anybody have problems sending text messages from Argentina to Cingular GSM phones?
Thanks in advance for the help and since I am a FNG if this topic has previously been discussed I apologize for not reviewing futher back.

Regards

Help with Europe Phone

My daughter lives in Switzerland, so we travel in Europe several times a year. I have rented phones to take with us beginning on our last trip to Turkey earlier this year.

Here are my requirements. Great phone reception, can pull up my yahoo email.

I would like recomendations for the lowest cost phone, probably available off EBAY or another site as well as the lowest cost prepaid sim card available that would work generally in Europe and Switzerland.

Europe phones locked now?

Is it true that European cell phone companies are now locking their phones, too? I thought virutally all cell phones bought in Europe were unlocked.

Will an 850/1800/1900 phone work in most of Europe?

I recently purchased an Ericsson T637 850/1800/1900 cell phone on EBAY. It is unlocked. I will be travelling to countries like the UK, France, and Germany. I notice that most service providers in these places list their frequency band as 900/1800. Does this mean a phone capable of EITHER will work, do does the phone need to have BOTH bands? I now wonder if I should have bought a 900/1800/1900 band phone instead.
