Prepaid spain: studying U of Seville for semester
I know there are three different carriers available. Any recommendations based on following usage patterns:
1. Will probably receive in-coming calls from mom and dad from the states -- are in coming calls free or is there a charge.
2. Occasional overseas international call home (New York area).
3. Not sure who I'll be calling -- probably my host family and fellow students (they probably will have same questions and use of the same three carriers).

I want a European phone (whine)
I have a T-Mobile GSM phone with a US based service plan. I use it a lot in Europe and the US. However, I want to buy a new phone in Europe (alright, I confess a "cooler" phone). What I really want to do is take out my SIM and just pop it into a new phone in Europe and have T-mobile just treat it as my regular phone?
Why is this not possible? Does it have to do with the "locking" threads I've read about?
I went into a phone shop last week in France, asked them the same question and they were all curious too. We popped out my SIM and put it in another phone. When we booted the phone, it prompted us for a code (which I do not have)??? Is this the "lock...

Needed GSM World with TDMA & analog
My phone is analog/TDMA AMPS/800/TDMA/800/1900, it works! But I travel and want a quad with TDMA and analog. Does such a phone exist? Right now I think I'm stuck with another rental for each trip, I really don't want two phones and two numbers. Thanks in advance.

Visiting Russia - Need SIM
I have a V60i phone with T-Mobile in the US. Does this phone support prepaid? What are my options? What do you recommend?
1800/1900 + 800 or 900?
If this is correct, which is the way to go? Clearly, the phone will be used in the US more, but how limiting is *not* having 900 in Europe?
Is there a phone with 800/900/1800/1900?
TIA
international use
1. are the rates substantially cheaper?
2. and are SIM cards in Europe/Scandanavia/China/Thailand etc compatible with all of our GSM phones?
3. will I be able to receive calls at my US number while abroad using a SIM card?
4. where do you buy the SIM cards abroad?
Thanks very much

Selecting a PDA
I saw the string earlier re: 800/900/1800/1900 and ATTWS versus Cingular, but am not sure how to read that given that the 7280s offered by ATTWS and Cingular both have the 850/1800/1900 bands.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
