laptop bluetooth to z525a to isp ........ help please !!!

I have a sony ericsson z525a through cingular. I also have a roadrunner cable account at home. Roadrunner allows remote access to my account via phone modem while travelling etc.
I would like to use my laptop while travelling, connect to my cell phone using a usb bluetooth, and use the cell phone as my modem, and dial my roadrunner dial up access number......bingo.....internet connection.
But it doesnt work.
Bluetooth between phone and laptop seems fine. Transfers pictures etc fine. just doesnt want to dial out and connect.
Been working on this for days.
Any help greatly appreciated !!!!

Mac USB connection issue

I've been using various Samsung handsets without difficulty for many years but now have a new problem. My original Aluminum Powerbook running 10.4.7 only intermittently is recognizing that my cellphone is connected through a USB cable. I'm reasonably sure that my laptop is recognizing that a USB device is being connected as connecting it will make wake from sleep. However, it does not show in the System Profiler.

I am not able to figure out any common denominator - it sometimes recognizes the phone, connects, and then loses the connection. When this happens, Internet Connect status will say disconnecting but never does unless I disconnect the cable and then I receive the usual device disconnection warnings. It sometimes will make the han...

Allelujah! The first EVDO Rev A device has been launched!!!

It looks like Sprint Nextel Inc. just went to market with the first EVDO Rev A device, an air card(Merlin S720) by Novatel Wireless. I know Rev A has yet to be deployed commerically over their 1xRTT/EVDO Rev 0 network, but at least it's backwards compatable to both of these networks so customers in these areas will be able to take advantage of the data speeds when the EVDO Rev A does eventually launch in their market.

Here's more 411 on the S720.

Sprint Nextel Inc.'s EVDO Rev 0 versus Cingular Wireless' EDGE

Why would a wireless subscriber who doesn't travel internationally(stays here in North America) want to use EDGE for wireless data when EVDO Rev O(soon Rev A to be deployed) blows it out of the water so to speak?

Bluetooth profiles designations?

OK, I'm going through the phonescoop reviews, trying to pick out a phone for my demo line; I'm seeing the different Bluetooth profiles and their codes, what do they mean? Can anybody tell me which profile will allow a file transfer from a computer(so I don't have to go out and pick up a cable for it)?

Any help is appreciated.

Motorola E815 and Motorola V710's to act as Analog Modems

I'm planning to trade up to a Motorola E815. My Motorola V710 does not work as analog modem on my Apple Mac G4 Laptop. A local Verizon Customer Service rep. said the tri-mode feature on the 710 is no longer in use on their system and that's why it died as a modem? Doesn't sound kosher but I still want to upgrade to the E815 (which I also understand is not being made anymore). I don't use enough to purchase a card to get on line while I'm on the road. Does anyone have a store
I can visit to help me with this issue? I live in Bergin County NJ (Paramus). Thanks! jeff.film007@mac.com

Is 10MB per month enough?

Hello - I just bought the moto Q and signed up for the 10MB per month data plan from VZ. I want to know if this is enough to do the follwing:

1) Browse websites, no movie downloads etc
2) send SMS and IMs
3) Check company emails (quite a few emails but i will not be downloading the attachments to the PDA). Just reading and replying to emails

Do you think i need more than 10MB?

Any opinions are appreciated

help; clarification needed

I'm getting ready for the "next level" of phone purchase. Decision is b/t Samsung I830 and Treo 700P. Here's what I can't seem to get a clear answer to.

What i want is to be able to plug my phone into my notebook computer (whick already has WiFi capability), and be able to do email, web browse, etc. from the computer, not the phone (as if i was accessing a wifi network somewhere. I have Verizon wireless.

If i'm reading correctly, i THINK i can do this with both these phones - the only difference seems to be whether i need global capabilities or not. can someone please confirm this (ideally if someone's already doing it, i'd love to hear from him/her).

Also, do i need any additional cards, software, or anything to have this capab...
