Jr High Punks

ok. so i work at a kiosk in the mall. and the head of security came up to my roomate and i while working and informed us that if we saw any Jr high-ish kids loitering around with a camera, to call him immediatly.

of course i ask why. Apparantly the new trend with these kids is to find a corner of a mall or an area that has a soda vending machine and to form a haf circle around an individual who takes a dump right on the floor 😲 on camera, and then they run out of the mall.

this amazed me, yet at the same time im not suprised by the lack of inteligence of these kids. they are rich spoiled brats that have nothing better to do then spend there parents money and try to get attention by acting like retards.

other things that they do th...

Early upgrade policy

I have customers all the time that say when I was with my old provider I could get a phone at a discount anytime I wanted. To clear this, what is your provider's early upgrade policy if they have one. Thanks!

Question about Recording Voicemail

I'm an employee at a Cingular store, and I was wondering if anybody out there new of recording devices that you could plug into a normal house phone to record phone calls. I have a voicemail from my girlfriend who died this past sunday that I'd like to record and keep and give to her family, and I want to try and do it before Cingular decides that the new Lucent VM is terrible as well and switches everyone over to something else (I've already lost three or four of her voicemails this way).

Any reply would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

The Dumbest thing I've ever heard

There was this comedian who said the dumbest thing he'd ever heard was the phrase "If it weren't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college." Largely because it makes absolutly no sense and you will spend hours trying to figure out what the heck they mean.

However I am here to tell you there is something far dumber out there... if anybody in your company ever says "We're going to revamp our ordering software." Run. Don't walk. Run. Run as if the very demons from hell were chasing you and whatever you do don't look back.

Whoever cam up with this concept and whatever abysmally incompetent people are involved in creating it need to be locked away where they can do no more harm. Yesterday I lost a two liner because the cust...

My first Rant...

So this is my first rant...be kind!

Does anyone else remember and long for the days when wireless phones actually cost money? It seems that back in the days of $150 or $300 phones, people were happier. It may just be me, but I think we as an industry have devalued wireless phones so much that people actually believe it costs around a dollar to manufacture a phone.

We had a customer today who screamed and threw a toddler style fit because we were "only" offering him $150 instantly off the price of a new phone for an upgrade. He was completely enraged that he would be "forced" to pay $20 or $40 for a new phone.

It seems that its because the word "FREE" is thrown around so much that people develop unrealistic expectations...free pho...

Just want to Rant

So my afternoon begins with a lovely pre-paid customer. My gangster type customer would like to put a different phone on his pre-paid account. I ask where he got it and he said he had purchased it from a friend. I ask if his friends service is cancelled or suspended. If it is suspended he will not be able to use the phone. He says it is cancelled. So I call in to get it switched and the lady on the phone informs me that the phone is on a suspended account and he cannot use that phone. I hang up with her and relay the message. He says "I don't understand you people!" I say, "Hold on for a sec, what do you mean?" He starts ranting about how "we" are horrible. I say, "The line is suspended so your friend can have the chance to pay off his bill ...

Another good example of why Stupidity should be painful...

This abysmally stupid woman... last night... she ordered service with us in JULY. She tried it, didn't like it, sent it back on her return period so fine, that's all well and good. However. Yes there is a however. She purchased a battery for her phone during her trial period (A spare battery mind you.) but before the battery even had arrived at her trailer she had decided she didn't want to keep the phone and sent it back. When the battery arrived she refused delivery and thought nothing more about it.

Now a more discerning person would have bothered at some point to call and check on the status of her return, maybe verify that her refund had been issued... or even noticed on her June credit card statement that she didn't get her c...

I know your pain

I know all of your pains of dealing with vicious customers. I worked in a grocery store for 2 1/2 years... they are just as vicious there. I was a cashier and they always complained about the price not being right:

Customer: That Tropicana OJ is supposed to be 2 for 4 dollars, not 2.99!!!!

Me: Ok, let me call the Dairy Dept. (After the call) The Dairy Manager said that only the Full Pulp Tropicana OJ is 2 for 4 dollars, not the pulp free variety. (I was thinking, "If you would only read the fine print, you jack@$$!!!!!")

Customer: THAT'S NOT RIGHT!!! THE FLIER SAID THAT ALL TROPICANAS ARE 2 FOR 4 DOLLARS! I WANT TO SEE YOUR MANAGER!!!

Manager: What's the problem here?

Customer: YOUR CASHIER IS TRYING TO RIP ME OFF!!!...

Sometimes I hate people!!

I had a customer call a couple of weeks ago to ask about getting service with one of the carriers I have in my store. I could tell just from talking to her she was going to be a fun one to deal with. Surprisingly, to me and her, she was approved. Well a week in half later she calls and wants to add a line to her account. She said she was getting married and her fiance was moving in with her the next day. She called 4 times within the next hour trying to decide if she wanted to put him on her account, she said she didn't know if she could trust him. Marry the guy, but can't trust him, real smart lady. He comes in later that day and says his "friend" was going to add him to her account if he couldn't get approved. Needles to say, he ne...

When a customer tells you to...

So I was helping a customer out, and because they spent so long deciding on the phone, it came to the time when I was scheduled to close my store. Obviously, I kept helping them out. The mother (somehow the smarter of the two) went outside to take a smoke. As she came back in, at 8:05, she pointed out the sign, and says:

"Did you know you're supposed to close at eight PM?"

DO YOU REALLY THINK I'D BE SO STUPID THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT TIME ** I ** GET TO GO HOME?

Anybody have a good way to deal with customers who try to tell you how to do your job?

Too Bloody Early

Ok I work swing shift and on Saturday I have to be here in the morning. No problem I can handle that, but what I cant handle is only getting 3 hours of sleep because I have to be at work at 6 am when I normally have to come in at 8. I get off work on Fridays at 10 and it is a 45 minute trip home so I am home around 11 pm. Has anyone had to go right to bed when they get home from work and was able to sleep without having to relax frist? If so please share your secret with me. ☚ī¸

Do you know how to READ!!!( This is to customers)

Ok every morning I come to work, I show up early like 9:30 or 9:45. Well we open at 10 am mon - sat. But everytime I come I always see a customer looking into the store to see if anyone is there and trying to open the door. On the FRONT of our door in plain site it reads "Monday - Friday 10am - 7pm and Saturday 10am - 4pm." But its 9:45, why are you trying to open the door and lurking and peeping through all the windows just to see if you see anyone in there. Even if you see me, company policy is I can not open the door until 10 and my system will not let me ring anything out until 10. Why do you not read or do you care not to read or is it simply you just can not read?

Billing upgrades

Doesn't everyone love the biling upgrades Cing did on sat night?? Nothing we activated or upgraded worked for 24 hrs.

Can't they get it that if they need to billing upgrades(which I do understand they have to from time to time) can't they do them on a weeknight(like tuesday) so it doesn't piss off customers? We spent all day today on the phones trying to get people activated that should have been activated (normally) right away??? Someone has to realize this when tech support jumps to a 45 min wait (just to talk to someone). I'm going to call off the next 2 days after the next billing upgrade.

K i'm done ranting now.. what does everyone else think???? anyone else with cing have problems on sunday??

Sunday

I don't feel bad in my call center. But then, each and every sunday my Tori Amos cassette wakes me up one thought assaults me. (yes, I use an old cassette player instead of an alarm clock, I don't have that function in my cd player, and I hate alarms).

One thought.

That's it. I quit. Right now.

I'm not (too) racist... -except with Japanese people, I'm afraid of them and aware I have a problem-... I don't hate americans more than they hate themselves. But why is it that each and every single sunday they have GOT to be choking in hysteria? I think... wasn't it like the movies? have they lied to me all along, so far? weren't they suppossed to be at church in sunday mornings? having a bbq? anything? do they have sex? do they masturbate?...

Great way to start your day.

I was opening the store today, and about 20 min before we opend there was a guy outside staring in throgh the gate, then through the window, then trying the door. I waited about 10 min in the back room till he left, and then went outside to have a cigarette. As soon as I get out side I see him, practically running out of the mall to come talk to me. I reach in my pocket to lock the door and walk to my car but I realize I left my keys inside DAMMIT! I have to help him.

"What time do you open?"

I point to the "Sore Hours" sign posted on the door he tried to open twice.

"Oh, well mabey you can answer a question?"

"Do I have a choice?"

"My voicemail quit working, can you fix it?"

"Your voicemail was upgraded, press and hold 1 a...

Have you ever been threatened by a customer???

A little while ago a customer tried to steal a leather case from my store, I confronted him about it, of course he denied it. so I told just give me the leather case, and I wont call security. Well he left my store and still had the leather case, he went to the bathroom, and ditched the leather case. He then came back into my store to talk to me. By this point I was on the phone with security, he then threatened by saying "You better hang up that phone, or else I am going to come over the counter and bash in your face!" Of course me being the smart ass that I am I say go ahead luckily enough his wife told him that they needed to leave, and so they did. But what really sucks is the fact that he had his 6 year old daughter with him!!!!

Insurance Question

So this woman calls me (sales) asking if she can add insurance to her phone. I ask how long she's had the phone. She said three months. I apologize and explain that the phone is no longer able to have insurance added to it. She persists in asking me a dozen questions about insuring the phone, rates and deductible then asks 'well if it is water damaged will it still cover that.' Yes, ma'am, our insurance covers loss, theft, or damage but your phone can not have insurance added because it is past the eligibility date. She insists I add it and I explain for the third or forth time that I am in sales and can't do anything to the account, she yells at me to transfer her to somebody who can... I explain that I'm sorry ma'am I can't do that e...
