Have you ever done this?

Yesterday, a customer came in to my radioshack to buy a phone. We discussed her options and decided on sprint. She got the new Samsung A560. We have a glass case at our radioshack with this phone inside...I got the phone out originally to show her. Then when she agreed to get it, I got a new phone in a box. I activated this phone, gave her an A560, and sent her on her way.

The next morning, I am ringing out another customer and suddenly, I hear something ringing. About 2 seconds later, I realized that the ringing was coming from the glass case.

I gave the customer the demo phone and put the newly activated one back in the case. Luckily, I left it on, so when she called it, it rang. She came in later, luckily in good spirits, and we swi...

Is there a difference???

I just had a customer come up asking for her account number, she was supposedely told by T-mobile that her cars (an Audi) bluetooth would only work with a GSM carrier. Is this true, i always thought that the bleutooth technology wasn't necissarily restricted to carrier, if you have a bluetooth phone, can't you can hook it up to any bluetooth headset???

Here's your sign

So the customer puts someone else on the line to pay her deductible with his credit card. I ask him what type of card and he tells me. Then I ask him how his name appears on the card. Please keep in mind I have not heard his name yet. He says, and I quote, "On the bottom." Then he sits there in silence waiting for the next question, like it was some kind of gameshow and he didn't have to call his lifelines for that one. He knew it big time. jeez. this is gonna be a long night.

Why is this so difficult? Seriously

I honestly don't understand why people struggle with this but I get at least 5 or 6 of them a day.

When you call our 1-800-number and before it drops you in to speak with a real live person (like my own sweet self) there is a robot voice that tells you (very clearly) that you will need a VALID CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD IN YOUR NAME to complete a transaction. I've ordered two lines of service through the 1-800-number so I know it says it.

But we get these people who call in and yank my chain saying they want to order service and then when I tell them we'll need a credit card they say "Oh I ain't gots no credit card." or something along that line... Or the ones that are worse... we have to mention at least once before asking for it that we d...

What's wrong with people?

What is wrong with customers? They blame me for all the "personal information" that they have to give me as if I'm the one who's going to use it. Then they blame the carrier thinking that it's only that carrier who asks for that information. They expect it to be as easy as ordering a Whopper Value Meal. If you want the phone you have to wait until the manual review is over, if you don't want to wait, too bad, you just won't get your phone. I need a happy customer to come in before I tear my hair out.

Attention: Insurance Customers

This is just a simple thing, but it really can make your call alot easier. Please do not call to tell us that your phone is damaged on that phone. Every day, I get garbled, staticky, barely audible calls where the caller ID matches the claimed phone. I even had one where the phone had been dropped in the toilet, so they fished it out, dialed *611, and then were transferred to us. Ugh....please do not call me on your poop phone. If you have damaged a phone, call us from another one. It's a toll-free number. Even a pay phone is better than a pee phone. Thank you.

Flamewars

Ok, I'm guessing I'm considered new here and maybe that's so. Then again, I'm not sure how many people who post to these threads honestly think this is a club in which seniority is a priority. (again, I swear I'm not trying to ryhme) Just a few random thoughts I'd like to share with you all. For the record, these are MY thoughts and opinions and you are obviously more than welcome to have yours and post them, but there seems to be a few here in cyber-world that apparently do not share this belief. As I've read more and more posts, they seem to violently go off on tangents of "baiting" and "misinformation" (Ruff, this in no way is aimed at you. I consider your information useful although your tone isn't to my particular liking). I'd us...

Angry cust. with very good Endings (LETS HEAR YOURS!!)

We always hear the negative about customers and bad situations on here. Let's hear some bad stories that ended up turning out good in the end!!!!

As I was thinking back to my previous job with Sam's Club Kiosks I thought about one particular elderly lady who had me scared to death! It was on an evening in January when the woman came to the kiosk wanting to upgrade her phone, well she just so happened to be with AT&T so she was going to have to change her plan and migrate to Cingular. I did explain to the cust. what it ment and only said that she did not want to receive two bills. I let her know she would probably have that happen one time, but since Cingular was on her bill now it didn't really matter anyways. Anyhoo I let her know there ...

Thank you for all of your help. PLEASE ONLY CINGULAR REPS OR FORMER REPS SHOULD REPLY.

IF YOU ARE NOT A CURRENT OR FORMAL EMPLOYEE OF CINGULAR, DON'T REPLY THANKS!

Top ten things not to say in a cellphone store....

Got this in an e-mail the other day and couldn't stop laughing 🤣 😳

#10...But my bill says Cingular now......
Ok genius...you signed up with AT&T, you have been billed by AT&T for years, your phone says AT&T on the outside. The only thing that has changed in your world is the logo on your bill. Let me put it into perspective...If you buy a box of Frosted Flakes, and your wife puts a picture of the Lucky Charms guy on the box, does the contents inside magically change into pink hearts and yellow moon marshmallows? Convert over or deal with the reality that you signed up with the wrong team.

#9...Best Buy sells the RAZR cheaper....
Its called a promotion. Their reps are hourly employees which means no commission is paid out. Best ...

How can people do this???

So yesterday I had probably the DUMBEST question someone has ever asked me. An older lady came into my store while I was really busy and I asekd her what I could do for her. She told me I could fix her phone since it wasn't working, so imediately I grabbed her phone and did a hard reset because I didn't want to waste time trying to fix it if it was a simple fix. when I turn the phone on it works fine so I hand her the phone back and say, "well it's working now, must've just had a bug or something". I swear to God this is her exact words that she responded with "Well ya it works now, it has been working since I got off the phone with customer care, why did it work AFTER I called them?" I really did not know how to respond to her...

As ...

Days off suck...

I know most people just read this and figured I was probably insane, but really they do. I just had two enjoyable days off and I come into the booth this morning and it wasnt closed?? By this, I mean I came in at 9am(we open at 10) and nothing was closed down. Lights were on, cash register unlocked and on, trash spilling out the the can, boxes everywhere and all of our cabinets unlocked. I can't believe my coworker is this f**king dumb and lazy. So I spent my morning, that was dedicated to re-merchandising, figuratively closing and reopening the booth. Retards I tell ya, retards. Anyone else always seem to work harder when they get back from their days off than they would have just working straight through them?

Yet another Asurion success story

TDMA customer just came in the store. Asurion has sent him a nokia 3560...$50 deductable of course. He followed the instructions sent to him with the phone and called in to activate it over the phone. Phone would not come off ROAM; which means that he was using analog service and paying $.35/min. Asurion told him to come to the store so we could see if the phone was properly programmed. I did a long programming...nothing was right..anyone surprised????
Even after all this phone still read ROAM.
This customer depends on his phone for business. He has now been out of service since Monday. I was in the middle of upgrading another customer who sold him his Nokia 3560 and his wife's 3560 for $10 each. Customer cancelled his insurance. ...

Look but don't touch

The best I have ever had.....

I had this gentlemen come into my store and he sat at my desk and began to tell me his phone was not working. I listen patiently as he repeated himself several times. So I reached out and picked up his phone and began to work on it. He stood up obviously upset and began to yell at me for touching his phone. He scolded me for touching others people property. He said I didn't know what I was doing (I have been doing time for 5 years now I think I know what to do). I sat the phone on the desk and ask him what exactly what he would like me to do then and he said anything but you don't need to touch it. I so wanted to put my fingers to my temple and begin to chant and wave my hands over phone and say "NEXT" But I ...

Customer Service vs Retail Sales, who wins?

Hey guys, I'm a CSR for VZW, it seems like since I started the line has been drawn quite clearly in the sand. CS vs Sales. It seems like a war that has been going on for ages. When I run across an account that has been totally screwed up by sales it makes me feel like the sale is all that matters for the agent that created the account. Then I see a CS agent screw up an account and it drives me even more nuts!!! Who started this war? Since I'm in customer service of course I feel like I'm always cleaning up a mess whether it be from Sales or from CS. I don't care if you work for Cingular, Sprint, or whoever but when will the war end!?!?!?! I'm sick of it. 😕
