5 Home Chargers
2 Leather Cases
1 Belt clip
1 Bluetooth headset

Maybe next month aye? Well, probably not..

I don't come to your country

A bunch of customers came in who appear to be from an african nation and speak very little english. the start yelling at my employee in some strange language. The main point of the story is that if you cant speak or understand english please dont come into an english speaking store and try to figure it out. to say "Bill? high bill? quit! no! why?" becuase I dont know what that sentence means all it does is drive away other customers.

NOW!

Customer had been transfered from Care, why I'm not sure, the Care rep must have been an idiot, I don't know. She needed to replace a lost/stolen/runoverwithacar phone. She needed to do a handset upgrade through Care. Sometimes I want to bludgeon our Care reps, really I do. Every single cold transfer.

She was PISSED because the clever little tool who transfered her to me told her I could sell her a new phone... which I can't. At least not at a discount. I was trying to be nice and explain that I could conference her over to Care and I would speak with Care and let them know what was going on so she didn't get bounced around again but I'd like to give her their direct number in case we got cut off. I Wish I Could Do It.

So I came up with the best way to quit my job ever. I'm going on vacation to Florida tomorrow (I won't be posting for a while). When I come back, I am quitting to go work at VzW. I wanted to wrap up my headset like a present with a bow and everything. Then I would give the box to my supervisor (see the I hate my boss thread). On the box would be a card with her name on the outside. When she opened it, it would say "I QUIT." in big, angry, red letters. At that point I would walk out smiling.

but, my dad says that I shouldn't, because it's possible that she, or my ops manager could get a job at vzw and then I'd be screwed.

Can I have my covers back?

This is my brother's story, he works at a store that does Verizon, Sprint, and Cingular.

Lady comes in with a Verizon phone. Not a phone that they carry but a look at her account shows that it's under warranty and it's just stopped working, no obvious damage. The techs take it back to the back room to look at the water damage indicator and it's got like a pin prick of red, enough that they say it could have just been a chance bit of humidity, not enough to void the warranty... so they were going to do an exchange for her but they had to wait for the replacement to come from the warehouse. They were going to set her up with a loaner phone for the couple of days it would take to get the new phone back since they're nice like that...

Sick of Lying Customers

This girl is trying to upgrade her phone and tells me she is Ms. So n So. Then tries to use a student ID as ID. Has no DL. Finally she slips and I find out she and mom have the same name and that it's mom's account . I tell her in a retail store we have to have Ms So n So here in person to sign the agreement. The girl keeps saying but I AM Ms So n So! We have the same name. So the girl, her boyfriend, and his mother leave. Go to another store and upgrade. Then the boyfriend's mom calls our store 3 times to escalate the issue to complain that I didnt help them, and accused the girlfriend of lying. she tells my manager that I did all sorts of crap. How Long Ago was that?

So Hurricane Katrina was how long ago? I've lost track but it's got to be close to a year since we're coming into the next hurricane season. I just had a guy call in asking about free phones for hurricane Katrina Victims.

Is anybody offering things for Katrina Victims? Isn't there some sort of time limit on how long we be nice and take a loss to help people displaced by the hurricane?

New Commercial

OK, so I have no idea why Alltel is advertising here, as we're about three to five hours from the nearest Alltel markets, but they just had a decent commercial on TV.

They had the Verizon geek, the Sprint pervert, and the T-Mobile bimbo, and were talking up there service that offers unlimited calling to select people of ANY carrier.

Like I said, decent commercial. Almost makes me want to buy an Alltel phone. Until I realize that they suck. Anyone here sell Alltel?

The ultimate irony.

Just had a customer come in who hadn't recieved his rebate after 4 months. Not usually a problem, but he was asian and barely spoke a lick of english. So, after a while of going back and forth with this guy I finally get it. I call our rebate dept. that has been outsourced to India, and get "Hannah" 🤣 on the phone. I have a hard time explaining the situation to Hannah. (why else would I call the rebate dept.?) She then demands that i take her off speakerphone and let her talk to the customer directly. Now, after 5 or so min. of them not understanding a thing the other is saying, he is getting visibly upset. He hands me the phone and says "You talk to bitch." 🤣 Finally, she transfers the call to someone who can speak english, and we...

In this recently surfaced statement, Klein details his discovery of an alleged surveillance operation in an AT&T office in San Francisco, and offers his interpretation of company documents that he believes support his case.

Selling phones is cool and all..

But.. I was thinking of a secondary objective.. To get some attractive women’s numbers. I work at an outlet mall so there are plenty of opportunities. I guess this is a question for those of you who have had plenty of years in the cell phone business. Do you guys have any witty lines i can throw their way? Like:

Customer: What types of phones do you have?
Me: Can i get your number?
Customer: Why do you need my number?
Me: For Friday..

That was lame i know.. Does anyone have any better?

I'm sorry. it's stolen.

Customer calls. She "found a phone at her friend's house". Wants to activate it. I tell her, sure. Bring it in and I can check the serial number, and as long as there are no flags on it for being lost, stolen, in for repair, etc... I can activate it. She brings it in and I run the ESN. Came back stolen. I told her I had to hold the phone and we would contact the owner as the phone has been reported as stolen. She says, "This phone aint stolen. I told you I found it at my friend's house!" I tried to explain to her that the person who originally bought the phone and has it on their account has reported that the phone was stolen, and since they bought the phone, it is rightfully theirs, and we have to return it to them. Another slow day, Another slow person

i swear it's everybody-act-retarded day here. a customer came in wanting to pay her bill. since i'm in an indirect, i have to look online to find out her bill amount (another annoyance...but anything to appease the consumer). she gives me her number and the last 4 of her social (because she doesn't know her password). of course that doesn't work, so i call customer care to get her bill amount. i hear this: "i'm sorry. that phone number and the name you gave me doesn't match." so after doing an invoice search on my computer (she'd had the number for at least a year), i get the right freakin' number and get her on her merry, oblivious way. she thought it was hilarious that she wasted my time by being a moron.

Paying customers?

I just had a couple of ladies come in and ask about pre-paid. Then they talked in what i think was chinese for a while. Then they asked if they could get a rebate for signing a contract. I told them it depended on wich phone they selected. They had thier own phone. I told them they had to mail the reciept in with the rebate. I offered a couple accessories. They asked how much the rebate was. They said: Everybody together now! They had a freind who did it.

So my question is this: Is anyone PAYING people to sign up?
