Verizon stock takes hit on $50 billion lawsuit

Lawsuit asks Verizon and government to end phone snooping and seeks $1,000 for each of phone company's 50 million customers.

NEW YORK (CNN) - A lawsuit is asking a federal court to order President Bush, the National Security Agency and Verizon to end a secret snooping program, and Verizon's stock took a hit on the news Monday.

Verizon (down $0.36 to $31.43, Research) stock fell more than 1 percent on the New York Stock Exchange early Monday.

Okay so i just had a customer come in and show me this thing called 'Sling Box' which gave her live tv on her treo phone?! She didnt know much about it only her husband put it on for her. So how new is this and whats it all about??

I am leaving my job at mobility (but i'm doing it kicking and screaming). My Company is retraining me for Landlines and i am not impressed. Although the location is alot better the job i'm not that excited about. But i don't think i'm going to be able to get on here nearly as much. I'm going to try and get on but i hear they have much more strict internet rules there...of course that's what they said when i started here so who knows. Hey everybody, i was wondering if anybody knows of any new verizon phones coming out soon?

I'm so proud. I don't speak any spanish, and I get a LOT of mexicans in my store. Today I finally used some that I've picked up. A guy came in and spoke no english. I asked "Contracto or Prepagado?" and he wanted Contracto. I handed him the spanish brochure and pointed to the prices while saying them in english. He said "nights?" I told him 5.95/month for gratis noches E siettay. He asked "incoming?" I said "gratis" and he bought a phone! =) YAY! I so don't speak or write spanish so don't get on me for now spelling it right, and don't steal my thunder or rain on my parade =)

hey everyone! I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to get a pocket PC 6700 unlocked. I have a customer who wants to use her friend's Verizon PPC on Sprint, but I don't know how to do it. I know that it's not as common to have CDMA phones unlocked. Any ideas?

this happened a while ago but I just remembered this. Had a customer come in complaining that their PTT phones weren't working properly. They were a few software versions behind, so I offered to do the upgrade. They FLIPPED because they said nobody had told them in the million times they've already been in here (somehow I don't believe that, but oh well) that they needed a software upgrade. Well little missy it will only take about half an hour per phone (there were 2). She FLIPPED again and demanded compensation for the time she is unable to use their phones. I just about busted out the calculator...let's see credit for a secondary on a family share would equal to two pennies (and that's rounding up), and credit for the primary would ...

Lady: I don't get it. The phone you sent me in April has stopped working. It just says that it has a low battery, no matter how long I charge it.

Apparently cell phones are mysteriously jumping into water without their owners knowing about it, I've had a couple customers come in with water damage and when you ask them about it they say how did it get wet. When you ask the phone it wont say anything. Just a heads up to everyone out there in cell phone land if this happens to you, you will now know what is going on.

👿 I can't stand when people refuse to even attempt to control their children. They just sit there and do or say nothing, as if it were ok to run around in circles screaming, pull things off the walls, beat on the desks, try to knock the computer monitors off the desks, and run behind the counter and into the back room and start knocking things off the shelves onto the floors. This woman did absoluetly nothing. Just sat there and smiled, asking questions about the phones I was selling her. How can you pretend that nothing wrong is going on? Guy: "does it cost money if i want to get a phone so i can make calls?"
me: "Well there is an activation fee and you will have to pay for the phone, so yes."
Guy: "Yeah, hmm. I couldnt figure out how to work the pay phone over there and i need to make a call, cause i need to call my buddy in santa monica. I only need to make one call. Will it still be expensive?"

Heard the other day that one of the major carriers will make the "Star Trek Communicator"-style handset available. Anyone hear which one? Or is this just so much hooey.

A lady just walked up saying she bought a charger from here a while back, that supposedly fried her phone, or something. She wanted a refund or compensation. I said "ok, do you have the charger with you and a reciept?"
"No, I threw them both away." she said.

I have gotten calls where it turns out to be a wrong number. it goes somewhat like this,

caller: is so-and-so there
me: no, you have the wrong number.
caller: is this xxx-xxx-xxxx.
me: yes it is.
caller: ok thanks.

*click*

now i've gotten 3 of these calls in total.thing is the caller id on all 3 numbers are roughly the same, aside from the last 2 digits,
ex:
111-111-1198
111-111-1157
111-111-1155
