I know we've complained about them before but....

I got hosed again on a secret shop...I scored a 68 but it seems that the mystery shopper was confused... I got marked off for not demonstrating a working phone or features, but yet in the comments about the stores live bar display stated, employee showed me a video clip on the live bar display...hmmm also, stated I mentioned the all over network with more bars in more places yet i didn't adress his coverage needs... Oh well 1 step closer to getting unemployment!!!

Here's a good way to minimize churn...

Regardless of what wireless carrier you are employeed through, if a customer comes up to you requesting their account number, you should politely inform the customer that your customer care department will be able to assist them with that information once they have verified a particular item on the customer's account. At this point people, you dial the internal phone number for your retention/save team so they can attempt to prevent the customer from churning voluntarily. You'll be suprised how well this tactic works for me on a weekly basis with customers who come up to my work station to request their account number and end up staying with Sprint instead of porting out after being warm transferred to our account retention department.

My civic duty???

Just had a smelly rotund woman come in telling me that she witnessed an accident and took pictures with her cell phone.

She told me it was my civic duty to hook her phone up to my computer and transfer the pics from her phone to a disk so she could deliver them to the police...oh...and while I was at it, I should just go ahead and transfer the pics of her grandkids to a separate disk for her...of course at no charge.

When I told her I didn't have equipment to transfer pictures and explained how she could send them herself, she started telling me why I was lying and why I had to do this. After about 10 minutes of listen to her complain, I offered to call the cops and have them escort her out of the store. I told her she could show...

Custy comes in a few days ago with a printed page off of the damn website so my first reaction is "oh great"
He saw something on-line for such and such price and now he just wants to see the phone in person before he orders it. (Pissed about it deep down) I show him everything he wants to see and then he asks me if i am payed on commission and i tell him yes. He says well so is he and because of that now he is going to buy the phone from me.
He comes back in today asking if i can activate the phone he got in the mail today that he ordered on line. "Oh i was gonna come back and see you but...(Insert BS story)"

Then the dude gives me his card and says if im in the market for a new area rug to give him a call. Is it just me or is he ...

What would you do in this situation?

Before I start this, I just want to say I'm not... making fun of the mentally challenged. Ok? Ok.

A woman comes up and starts looking at the phones on display around the kiosk. I watch her for maybe, 20 seconds and then walk over and say hi. She asks me what my cheapest telephone is. I tell her .01. She says she wants it. Doesn't want to see it, doesn't ask about plans. Nothing. ๐Ÿ˜• I can tell by the way she is talking and acting that is she is not right. She keeps telling me she just went to the doctor for one thing or another... Anyway, after all that she couldn't find her ID.
But my question is, what should I have done had she found her ID? Should I have run credit, and let her get a phone? (had she been approved, that is) Or should...

Wholesale Providers

I work for Wireless Zone in Michigan and we are a newer store... We are trying to find wholesale companies with Verizon instead of going through Verizon direct for phones... Anyone know of any good, reliable, well priced companies?

How come when I ask "Is your phone turned on?"

They ask what I mean?

Yes, sir, I am asking if your phone is sexually aroused at the moment. ๐Ÿคจ

Never mind...

"Never mind, switch me back over to Customer Care, I want to cancel this line."

Why, you may ask, did he want to cancel a line of service?

Because he was going to have to pay $15 to replace a charger that had failed after almost two years of use.

Does he realize what a petulant little brat he sounds like?

What makes me mad is the fact that customer care is going to bend over and take it to keep this cheap little twit, probably give him a credit of $50 because he was inconvenienced by his relatively old charger breaking down and the mean lady in accessories telling him he had to actually pay to replace it.

Homeless and Cell Phones

Is it just me and my location or do alot of you get homeless coming in trying to set up service with a free phone? How do they think they can afford this?!?!?!?! I could understand pre-paid but a two year seams a little far fetched, let alone the deposits that come up. Is there anything that you offer to try and help them?

the reason I smoke cigarettes

I had a dude come in earlier and his phone had the "PUK blocked" message which means he needs a new SIM card--yay--and we replace them for 20 dollars. He just could not believe 'us people' would charge him so much for a SIM card. Sorry, buddy. Then he got this idea that changing the card would also change his number. And I explained that no, it doesn't. over and over and over. THEN he was mad that he lost all of his phone numbers, HE THOUGHT. Turns out he didn't. Then he just stood there and stared at me. ๐Ÿ‘€

WTF?

Now he wants to know how much it costs to change his phone number. I tell him 36 dollars. Once again, he can't believe it. BUT, he still thinks that I changed his number, which I DIDN'T. NOW he wants to...

B!*CH!!!!!!!

Ok.... I'm going to vent. Again. Thsi girl who activated a Moto V325i with me about 5 days ago just came in asking about the KRZR phone. First, here is what happened the day she came in.

Her: I want the cheapest phone you have with a camera.
I pull out the 8300 and the v325.
Me: This one is 99.99 with a $50 MIR (8300). This one is 49.99 with a $50. (v325)
Her: Ok that free one sounds good. I want the 900 minute plan and the $15 text plan. I don't want anything else. No ringtones or anything. That's it.
Me: Alright sounds great. Let me just ask you, do you want insurance on your phone?
Her: No I don't. I just want this cheap phone and some minutes and some text.
Me: Ok.
I got her all set up, activated the phone and swiped her card...

Can I work here?

So, in the wireless industry we deal with the numerous amounts of ignorant customers. Any of you dealt with just some GEMS who think they are your unanswered prayer for a new employee?

We are right across the street from Cingular. Kid comes in (I know him from back in the day), he wants an application. I give him one, he fills it out. The whole time he's here he is bashing his current employer (Cingular). The entire time he's here he cussing up a storm left and right, then even proceeds to put my name on the app as the one who referred him. He kind of looked stunned when I told him that my name on that App won't help him, because I am the manager here ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿคฃ

He then looks up at me and says "well then you can...

I hate today

I have had a total of 2 customers this morning and both of them were tools.

Customer one comes up twenty minutes before we open (I had literally JUST walked in) and starts yelling at me about not having coverage in his basement apartment. (He lost the antenna on his phone) I tell him I will be more than happy to see if my repair department has one in stock for that phone as soon as I open the applications I use to view their inventory. He goes off about how I am making excuses not to help him and he is just going to cancel his service if I don't fix it RIGHT NOW! Finally, after listneing to his ranting, I find out we do have one and I get him a loaner phone while they are fixing his and send him on his way.

Customer two is looking a...

Reps who can't take the heat (very long..need to vent)

So we have this customer. They upgraded 3 phones, and added a new line with us back in January. They had 15 Day Return/Exchange period. They were kinda griping about their phones within the first week, I offered to exchange them out, they only did one phone. Now here we are almost 3 months later and now they want the other 3 replaced because the phones aren't working correctly, "and haven't been since day one". ((Side note: ever get tired of customers who expect you to bend the rules just cuz it's been like this for day one, but they never came back with it until day 120??)) I offer to do the warranty repair/replacement, and that's just not good enough! They expect us to replace the phones that they bought for nothing.

The phones...
