Things Coworkers Say

Here's how this game is played- post a quote of something funny, stupid, ridiculous, etc that you overheard your coworkers saying.

To kick it off-

(coworker looks at message about a systems error)- "(random system) is not working. it (prounounced like it) is investigating"

...

"oh, I.T. is investigating... I was wondering why it was capitalized!"

_________

(another coworker, a lead rep)- "Hey, is this phone SprintTV capable?"

I look over and see an i580 (nextel/iDEN phone) in his hand... "It's an iDEN phone..."

I make as much as a McDs Team leader now!!!!!!!

So minimum wage went up by 75 cents in my area last week. Most companies applied raises to keep people from leaving, my company did jack all. I discovered i would actually make more hourly if i went to McDs as a team leader!!!!!!! ๐Ÿ‘ฟ ๐Ÿ˜• ๐Ÿ˜•

Would you like fries with that?


Does it really pay to remain with a company for a long period of time?

I almost had to take away a customer's phone

So i just and mean just had a customer come into my store,65ish old man


M-me of course
C-man with the IQ of a mustard seed.


C- my phone makes these funny noises..i think its broken

so i take the phone and start lookin at it, checking for water damage broken speakers you know the little look over we all do when a customer comes in and complains and his phone is in awesome shape, just got it from a co-worker of mine a week or so ago.

M-what are these "funny noises"?

C-when i call some one i hear this noise coming out of the speaker.

ok i think maybe some crackles or static so i call my phone put his on speaker phone and this is where i almost dropped a golden egg down my pant leg.

Yippee! I'm now a lead at my store, which I know isn't a huge deal, but I've been in a tiny store for two and a half years waiting for the opportunity to move up and it finally happened. Looks like for once my patience has paid off!

I can only hope everyone else is having a good day too, but seeing as it's Monday I doubt that's the case...

I know this has been covered 800 million times by now... But...

If you don't pay your f****n phone bill, we have EVERY RIGHT TO SUSPEND YOUR SERVICE.


You don't go to the grocery store and eat a loaf of bread and tell the cashier you'll pay them Friday.

You don't pump gas, and tell the attendant you can pay them in full in 2 weeks.

Stop whining at me because you didn't pay your bill on time, so we shut you off. Don't pay your rent for 3 months, see what happens. Don't make a payment on your car for 2 months.

If you insist that your cell phone is a MUST have for you, and you need it for your business (read : bidness) then I guess you really, really suck at money management. I know it's soooooooooooo important for your 5 year old (who probably has a Treo with no data package on it) to tell yo...

Last Straw, Putting in my two weeks!!!

So i work for vzw call center and I've been working here for about 1 1/2 years and i still have not received my raise for the first year and I'm supposed to get a raise six months after the year. haven't received s**t and now they are taking my extra dollar an hour for having a flexible schedule. I've put up with a lot of crap but I'm done with this s**t. and the problem is they don't even tell you in advance, my supervisor just came up to everybody that is a flex agent and said "you're no longer flex and will be taking a pay cut starting today." f*****g bs.

Anyone in Birmingham/Atlanta?

First post... be gentle (and let me know if this is not okay).

I work for an IT staffing firm in Birmingham. We need a Motorola Device Guru for one of our clients in between Atlanta and Birmingham.

We're having a tough time finding a good candidate. Basically our client is starting up a handheld division and needs someone come in to support the devices. It would be phone support.

Experience supporting the Motorola Q and Razr would be a plus, but not absolutely required.

You guys know of anyone?

Stupid People...

Does anyone else get annoyed when a customer walks in and asks for a phone, lets say a blackberry. When you show them a blackberry, they go 'No, thats not that blackberry, the other black berry....' and it turns out they were talking about like a Treo 680..

I know it sounds like a rediculous rant, but I constantly get it...

Blackberries arent blackberries - apparently all PDA phones are blackberries...

Razrs arent razrs - all thinnish camera phones are razrz...

Walkmans - ANY phone, no matter the company, that has an MP3 player in it...

Whats worse is, when you bring them the product they are asking for, they yell at you because its wrong...and when you tell them (politely) that they're wrong, the yell and get pissed and say y...

3G outage

AHHHH!!!! The 3G network is down in my area so all I've had all day are assholes with 3G phones that want me to...um...climb a tower and fix the problem...

I don't know what to tell these people but they want credits for the last two days they haven't had service. ๐Ÿคฃ

Or, they want to swap their phone for an EDGE device because their brother's cousin's daddy's baby momma's phone works fine. ๐Ÿ™„

I hate today.

Fun with wallpapers!

An older couple brought me their son's old phone to activate on their contract, and the phone's battery was dead when they brought it in. I plugged it in to charge while I ran everything through the system. Well when I powered it on, I noticed that the wallpaper is a video of a cute blonde girl lifting her shirt and bouncing around a bit. Being a girl in my early twenties, I thought this was hilarious, but I didn't want to embarrass the couple by showing them the wallpaper (remember, they hadn't been able to turn it on when they brought it in). They asked me to show them how to do something, so I brought it to the menu screen before I actually showed them the screen to save us all some awkwardness. After a moment they ask me to show the...

Part of my job...

... is to answer new reps questions when they're on the phones for the first few weeks and getting adjusted after training. Is it bad that the first thing I want to say to them when I meet them is "RUN!!! GET AWAY WHILE YOU CAN!! AVOID THE INSANITY AND FLEE!!!"

Looking for Phone and Carrier

I own a mobile phone and an old PDA (Palm Pilot Vx, vintage 2000). I need the following capabilities:

1. Combine phone and PDA into a single device
2. Sync files between the device and a PC from programs such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Money, Outlook, and Outlook Express
3. Edit files on the device, not just on the PC
4. Data service.
5. GPS navigation
6. Best service provider

What device and carrier are recommended?

Why do customers even make that ridiculous request? Sorry, my CEO is too busy sleeping with supermodels and swimming in money to care that you were without cell service for a week. Is there anything I can help you with? I get paid basically nothing, which is, coincidentally, about how much as I care about what you have to say.....

The End of Contract Phone Sales = My Dream

I am not sure about most people in the wireless industry. But myself, I am very tired of referring people to other places to get their phone because they:

-Don't want to sign a contract
-Can't afford to buy a phone outright
-Are not available for an upgrade

Or are too mindless, to understand an Exception upgrade and how they save money by doing so...

Like most people, I dream of the day, or the store where you can go in and buy a phone without a contract. A cheap phone, a decent phone or the phone of your dreams...

Anyone else out there feel what I am saying.

E-Bay wholesalers are making a killing and I would like to see some statistics or a study on what is really going on in the wireless industry.

Were you raised in Interuptville?

Why is it that when I say my opening people feel need to interupt me? And they pop of with thier name, life story, everything I need except thier flipping phone number. Also, why is it that I need to say this whole long opening when 99.9% of the time they interupt anyways? Grr. I am better...
