gsm to cdma

i work for a company that distributes cdma phones and service. we also flash cdma phones from our competitors onto our service. i have recently heard that there are ways to flash cdma service onto gsm phones. i will be looking more into this as i have the address of the company in my area that is reported to do this, my question is, are there any dealers/ retailers that have any info they could give me on this?

Upgrades

Anyone else hate when customers come in to look at phones and ask about prices and stuff about the phone when they know they aren't' eligible for another 6 months? Do they think it's gonna be the same price? Quit wasting my time, come back when you are able to buy.

What are your responses?

When you have a customer that says "Ok, I am going to think about this and will get back with you.", what is your typical response? I have heard a lot of different replies to this statement before, I was just curious what everyone here says to keep that sale!

I just had one of these...

Me: Hello maam. How can I help you?

Cust: My phone went dead. Do I need a new battery?

Me: ๐Ÿคจ Well i'm not sure. I guess it depends on what caused your phone to stop working.

Cust: I don't know. It just went dead all of a sudden.

Me: Do you have your phone with you? Can I take a look at it?

*Customer hands me her phone and I take a look at it for a few seconds*

Me: What were you doing with the phone when it shut off on you?

Cust: I was trying to call someone and the screen went black and I couldnt dial any numbers.

Me: Ok maam. You're phone is working fine now.

Cust: What did you do to it?

Me: I turned it on.

*Customer says thanks and walks away embarrased*

tips for the call centers

I worked in a TMo call center for 7 years, 1 year as cust care and 6 as PDA/Blackberry support. Always Always Always get aggravated custys and the best way to handle them is smiling through your voice. It sounds corny but I always received customer commendations for turning things around for them. They just want to vent a little and get thier problem fixed, thats all. But if they are screaming at you, answer in low tones, they will realize they cant hear you if they are screaming. It works. I dont interupt them either, it helps them in thier venting. Getting frustrated with custys is part of the job, dont let them get to you.

Just because you have a smartphone...

doesn't mean you're smart. ๐Ÿ˜ก

I get sick of the customers that come in everyday with Qs and Blackberries that they bought elsewhere and then come in to me because they can't figure them out.

M = Me
D = Dumb@$$ smartphone customer

D: I got this berry phone a week ago and I can't get on the internets.

M: Did your salesperson show you how to use the phone?

D: He started to but I didn't have time to stay and listen.

M: Did you read your instruction manual?

D: Ahhh, who reads them things anyways?

M: Did you click on the browser icon?

D: What's that?

M: The icon that says Web Browser.

D: Is that how you do that? I guess I could have figured that out myself then.

M: (under my breath) Don't bet on it.

It's quite sad when...

when your at a mall and someone you know works for another carrier and you argue with them and win about wireless service. I was AT&T and he was T Moblie. Even random person looked at us and said, "Wow, i was wondering who i wanted and AT&T seems to have a better deal." Even the T-M guy shut up after i said rollover mintues. ๐Ÿ˜ข

a customer continues to mention that their loved one has died recently (up to a couple years ago) ?? this lady was just asking questions bout cases than started talking about how his voicemail still works even though he's been dead for over a year... it was very awkward and im glad her son came and got her to continue shopping.

They don't understand, so it's my fault.

Me.: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
Them: Yes. I want to make sure I keep my cell phone number. Does the new phone arrive atcivated or do I take it to a store?
Me.: All you'll need to do is call the number that it comes with and they will activate it over the air. You can log into your My Verizon and and go to Upgrade Your Phone, and it will show you each phone at the prices applicable to your account. By the way, when you upgrade your phone today online, we can give you the free shipping we've got available today. How does that sound?
Them: You did not answer my question. Will I retain my number?
Me.: If you are upgrading, of course you would.
Them: It appears as though you are ans...

"I'll take my business elsewhere"

Closely related are:

"Well, I'm just gonna go to *carrier*, then!"

"I guess I'll be looking at other carriers then."

How do you react to this? Does this encourage you to get the sale and to be more lenient with the customer?

Or is it the last straw before you hang up/ punt them out of your store?

I think that this is the last thing I hear as soon as someone says it -anything else that happens after that sentence is me trying to get them out of the way so I can help someone else. Perhaps it's different in a live setting, but you can casually mention switching carriers over chat. Even if you don't mean it, it comes off as very passive aggressive, and trust me, most of the people I talk to who use it don't bother to word it ...

Look at the F#%@ing keypad!

I'm currently on the phone trying to help a customer with fixing her text messages. The step I'm currently on requires her to press the main menu button on her keypad. It's one of those Motorola phones with the menu button at the top middle of the keypad, I'm telling her the location and she is continuously telling me what she is seeing on the screen. I have told her 20 times to look on the keypad, and she is continuously looking at the screen. I want to strangle somebody...

Thank the gods I only have two more hours ๐Ÿ˜
