Where are the paying customers...

All day long i have been replenishing 10 year old prepay customers phones. I cannot even try to sell them a plan. They are 10!!! What the heck. Have only ran like two credit checks all day and one pulled a $1000 deposit...BLAH! Come on people..come get the phones!!!


I mean..EVERYBODY needs a Blackberry!!!

i just had a lady come up to me complaining that her phone didnt work. So, I said well, whats it not doing? She replies It keeps shutting off on me and now it won't turn on at all! (she was so flustered over this it was ridiculous!) Anyways, so after a minute I said "well, let me check something." I pulled out a charger and plugged it in. SURE ENOUGH IT CAME ON! hmm how about that! lol I told the woman, ma'am your phone isnt working because your battery is dead. Now she got further flustered and said "you mean i have to charge this thing?" WOW! What the hell do ppl think they get a charger for? Its obviously not a decoration! ugh!

Best part about working pre-paid..

When customer calls in asking for an extension..

Me: let me look in to that .. whats your #?

Custy: um.. xxx-xxx-xxxx.

Me: oh o.k. let me place you on a brief hold (holds for around 2/3min)
Thank you for the long hold. Iam sorry but since we're "prepaid" you only get what you pay for ! 30 days of service is all you paid for ma'am, Iam sorry we do not give out extensions.

Priceless...

I give'em a lil taste of hope - then crush their dreams of extension heaven..

I hate Thursdays. We are soooo slow. It is these days that i wish even the bad customers would come in.

Ok...only until they actually do then i want to slam my hand in the drawer for willing them into the store...

Stupid discounts...

So we sell OEM car chargers with 2 year warranty including covering physical damage. We sell them for $19.99.

This lady just came in wanting an LG Dare CLA. I rung it up and told her $21.XX and she says "did you put my discount on there?". I explained that we are a retailer for Verizon Wireless so I don't have a list of discounts based on who the employer is, however, the VZW store sells the chargers for $29.99 so even if she got a 25% discount, my price was less.

She then says...and this part made me want to kick her... ENTITLED to a 25% discount". I told her that was an offering being made by Verizon Wireless and not by my company. Then, sensing that she just wasn't going to give up, I told her that if she wanted me to match ...

WTF!!!!

Customer calls into my department he has a HTC Diamond that is maybe 6 weeks old.

ME=ok sir what seems to be the issue with your device,

Cust- "after 10 min of babbling" I got paint on the screen and when I got the paint off the screen was all cloudy.

Me- Im so sorry to hear that, now what did you use to get the paint off...

Cust- ACETONE!!!!!!!

(in my head i say DUMBASS)

Me- Um sir I do see that you have insurance and we can get the insurance company on the phone and get your device replaced.

Cust- I called them they want F**** $50 for a new one.

Me- Yes sir thats what insurance is, if you did not have insurance it would cost you 599.99 for anew Diamond.

Cust-no it wouldn't I have a contract you would have...

So I was helping this guy with his new aircard and he was very very thankful.

He says, "Can I pay you for your help."

ME: "No sir, I couldn't accept that. But I appreciate the offer."

Him: "Well thats ok I guess just rewally appreciate it is all."

He goes to leave and then turns back to ask...


"Do you happen to have $2 I can borrow until tomorow...I get paid then and really could use the cash...."



WTF was he gonna tip me with?

Good Customers

As much as I complain sometimes about spoiled "I want it now, and I want it free" customers... I just wanna put it out there that I love my regulars. This job is stressful but meeting new people and seeing my monthly bill payers who don't complain every time makes it worth it. I do love my job. ๐Ÿ˜

Stand up for Good Customer Service

I dont care WTF store you working in and where. It ALL boils down to ONE thing....

GIVING GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Even if you are the meanest crapeyest slezeyest sales man in the world. If you give good customer serivce the customers will come back to you. However Customers on average are less likely to tell there friends they got good serivce at XYZ store. But its the AWSOME sales man that has his customers bring there friends to see him and only him.

If you give bad customer service that person will tell on average 3-5 of there friends. So it pays to give good customer serivce no matter where you work.

*stands on soap box with arms raised*

I say be the first one to help the crazy person fix there plan or pay there bill. Be ...

Why do they still have this phone?

I've only been selling cell phones for just over six years now, I remember seeing them fairly regularly when I first started, even had a manager that swore by it and refused to switch (till it dropped out of a third story windown onto pavement). It has to have been close to a year and a half at least since I have seen a customer come in with one, but then an older guy came in today to replace a headset. I asked him what type of phone he had and he pulled out a Startac. I can't believe people are still using this phone. I tried to offer him an upgrade to get him a better phone, but he refused... It was the first flip phone ever and people still use it.
