Keeping dummy phones in their holsters

What methods do you guys use to keep dummy phones in their display holsters? Every customer feels they have to grab the phone out of the holster and give it a full, thorough examination before they can render any sort of decision on it. The holsters are on a string and can be pulled out from the display a good 2-3 feet, but apparently that's just not good enough. The phone apparently has to be removed from the holster to be examined.

So what devices do you have to keep people from getting them out? Ours (AT&T authorized retailer) is a little silver thing with 2 prongs, holds the sides of the phone.

Wow 20,000 texts

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090410/ap_on_fe_st/odd_ ... »

A cell phone used by a Wyoming 13-year-old to run up a nearly $5,000 phone bill will text no more thanks to her angry father and his hammer. Dena Christoffersen of Cheyenne sent or received about 20,000 text messages over about a month, and her parents' phone plan didn't cover texting.

Gregg Christoffersen told KUSA-TV of Denver this week that he thought texting had been disabled on her daughter's phone, which he smashed hours after getting a phone bill for more than $4,750.

The family said Verizon has been willing to knock the bill down to a reasonable level.

Dena has been grounded until the end of school. She said she feels bad and ...

My eyes...they burn

For the love of god if your cologne or after shave is so strong it makes my eyes burn and water you need to lessen the dose. I was talking to this old Persian guy who wanted everything for free, I could hardly look at him because my eyes hurt so bad.

what are you supposed to say?

so, i had a customer just walk in and say "i just wanna look around and see what deals you have going on."

im kewl with that, sure you take my time away from actual customers but whatever.

then he wanted to know if we still offered family plans, why yes we do, didnt know those were going to be discontinued myself...*sarcasm intended*.

next it was "you got them slide phones (585) for one flat rate for that family plan right?" i weasel out of him that he is talking about a promotion we ran in Feb. when they were buy one get one free. i explain this ended around valentines day-2 months ago and get this gem "well i dunno about that i just know i saw it on tv one day"

then he wants to know how much he will have to pay to sign up ...

Slow Day @ the store!

Good afternoon all! I manage a store for an Indirect Verizon dealer. The store I'm in is very new to the area and after many hours of racking my brain I've decided to turn to the mighty Phonescoop for help. I am the only Verizon store for 30 miles which would make most sales people drool, but if my store does 10 phones a week I feel lucky. I know most of you probably have some smart remark for me but save it! Don't waste your time typing it or my time to read it. Our service works really well in this area and our only other competitor is is an Indirect AT&T store and believe you me I wouldn't buy soap from them! They are morons. I have a fairly young inexperienced team and they don't always pull their weight. Once the "levy" breaks I kno...

O.o' DRUNKEN CUSTOMERS ON A FRIDAY NIGHT...

👿

I have better things to do than listen to you ramble on for the better part of an hour about how much you hate your carrier.

I offered you a better plan.

A $70 bill credit (which was a current offer for this drunken Premier Customer).

And a better phone (because you're eligible for upgrade every YEAR.

And you continue to complain... CAN THE 9-MONTHS+ PREGGO GO HOME NOW?!

I love it when customers tell me I'm wrong. Like when you tell them that no they can't have any phone they want for free just because they are eligble for an ugrade. Anybody else??

So you're going to walk away from my business?

So we had a customer come in today. Said he was looking to upgrade his phones to blackberries because of the BOGO we have going right now.

I pull up his account, and he's not eligible to upgrade until November of this year. He does have an annual upgrade on his primary line.

I explain to him that while he could upgrade his line today, his wife would have to wait until November to upgrade her line. If he wanted to upgrade them at the same time, he could wait until November and then get an additional discount thanks to his New Every Two Credit.

He goes off on a tangit about how he's been with Verizon "forever," and then says how it is criminal that we don't allow customers to have the same deal new customers have (promotional pri...

Account Services

Why does acc serv feel the need to approve anyone that calls them for a new free phone? Example, customer has been with us for less that one year and acc serv approved them for two eairly upgrades. I know churn is a big issue but at that point wouldn’t a ETF be better for the company?

Thief...

So I know people are worried about the economy and whatnot, but stealing the balloons from in front of the store to give your kids is just pathetic. We put them on our sign on weekends and parents have been stealing them lately for their kids as they walk by. Right in broad daylight. We don't put them out as gifts. They are there for attention and advertising. Why would people think its OK to undo the crazy tight knot? Hell, THEY PROBABLY ONLY COST A NICKEL EACH!!! If you don't have a nickel to buy a stupid balloon, you should really analyze your budget or evaluate your entire existence. A few less lottery tickets and you could afford your own balloons instead of stealing mine. Jerks. 👿

"But how much does it cost if they text me?"

i just had a conversation with a customer who wanted to know how much it costs her when someone texts her...

M: You have unlimited text, it doesn't matter if someone texts you, its included in your price per month.

C: I know that I have unlimited text but how much does it cost me when someone sends me one? Like when they reply?

M: 🤨 It doesn't. Send and recieve as many as you want.

C: Well if you won't help me I will go somewhere else.
