Is there a way to expand the # of Contacts in a GROUP?
Jun 7, 2007, 6:04 PM
in the LG VX-8700 forum

this is the first LG phone i've bought, and i am satisfied overall. Great looks, brains and athleticism. however, i can only add a maximum of 10 phone numbers in a Group (under Contacts). that means that you can have only 10 Contact numbers under, say, "Friends". For a phone that can potentially hold 1000 Contact names, this is ridiculous. i've talked to Verizon second tier tech support, and I've been told that all ...

i read earlier that there might be an upgrade to fix some of the glitches before the phone is released at the stores. can someone clarify? if so, when?

Can I play music from other than VCast?
Sep 14, 2006, 1:11 AM
in the Samsung SCH-A950 forum

I just downloaded quite a few songs from Walmart via Windows Media Player. I have transferred the songs onto my transflash, but it fails to "acquire license". This seems to prevent the phone from playing the songs. Is there a way to play music on this Verizon phone other than from the VCast site? PLEASE HELP!

wow thanks. this basic Seem explanation just simplified so much confusion. i switched from a PDA phone and all these functions that need to be hacked on regular phones are all basic functions of a PDA phone. and i'm still in progress to work out some "basic" needs, i.e. PC sync and MP3 on a phone. i still switched since regular phones with its obvious size and phone-first benefits (and others) outweighed the PDA phone, ...

Re: Got em but can't save as ringtones
Jul 15, 2005, 4:45 PM

this happened to me too. i got them to save by: playing the attachment MP3 file. while playing the music file, hit the menu button and it'll give an option to save. hit save, then it'll give an option to just store or apply as ringtone. btw, i didn't know sending to mynumber@vzwpix.com was costing me 25 cents. so i am charged this fee when i receive emails in my phone?

thanks guys. i think this worked for me too. i kept typing in the audio levels in the "SUCCESS" page where nothing happened. the earpiece volume seems a bit louder, though anything over level 4 breaks up a bit.

i confer with grdella's question. after i get "SUCCESS" i typed in all 5*0*0, 5*0*1, so. nothing happens. i'm not sure what it means to "set audio level". Do i actually type this in too or is it a physical function? i tried hitting the volume up button. also, tried typing the actual text. can someone explain?

Re: SCREEN SAVER???
Jul 15, 2005, 11:30 AM
in the Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood forum

i traded in my 8100 for the moto 815. someone may be concerned about a screen saver, but i couldn't work with the 8100 since that phone didn't have a working MP3 player, nor could it PC sync, nor did it allow the full usage of 512MB that it was touting on. only 27MB was actually available to the user. 512 is apparently shared memory. i do have to admit the 8100 is a great phone otherwise. ...

i may be on the same page. i got to the "SUCCESS" part. didn't actually set the audio control, just typed in the numbers. i'm trying to do it again, and it's only taking me to the Mobile Web. do i have to hit the + signs? if so, can someone tell me where it is? i must be blind. thanks

skorpyo31 said: True, very true. However, it is convenient to have two or three items in one, rather than carrying around an MP3 player, camera, and phone. There should be a higher MB Transflash card available soon. Actually battery life is pretty decent on this phone. i agree. the reason why i went with the LG 8100 first, then switched to 815 is the convergence capabilities. i'm not expecting 10gigs of music on internal memory.

i know this has may been discussed before. but can someone explain whether Mobile Phone Tools 3.0 is the right tools (CD and cable) to PC sync my contacts/calendar from OUTLOOK and the phone? there's been previous threads on the VZW issued Mobile Office Kit, but there seems to be talk that it doesn't work right. if the third party MPK is the right tool, can i just install the CD and be able to sync ...

that also happened to me when i tried to send multiple ringtones in one email. i tried individual ringtones under one email, and while the song was playing i chose save file. it worked. it gave me a choice to just save it or apply it as a ringtone. then go to the ringtones under media gallery > sounds. thanks for the tip.

the stereo speakers on the 8100 is amazing, but what's the point if you can't play MP3s. unless you really like VCast programs, which is not big with me, i'm trading in my 8100 for the e815. very disappointed with the 8100. had it for four days.

wow thanks. that's the most concrete info i got on the MP3 player on 815. i'am assuming that you can create playlists and have songs playing on auto without having to hit play on every next song. ok now i'm gonna convert to the 815, even if there are some rumored inferiority to the 8100. i don't care how good the surround sound is on the 8100 if you can't really transfer and play music ...

this may have already been hashed out, but... i just bought the 8100 and now i'm thinking of trading it in for the e815. the 8100 does not currently have an MP3 player built in. can anyone verify that you can transfer MP3 files onto the Transflash card and play music on the e815? is transferring files to the phone user-friendly? i don't wanna to be duped again, like the 8100. thanks in advance.

hey guys, i'm thinking of switching over to the e815. i just bought the LG 8100 and there is no MP3 or PC syncing on it. does the e815 have the capability of syncing OUTLOOK contacts/calendar? this may have already come up, but i'm new on this forum. i've heard of the MPT. does this sync it with OUTLOOK or its own contact list? does it come with the phone package or as a ...

the GET IT NOW memory info says that there's only 27MB. I just talked to the 611 rep, and she confirmed after talking to LG that there is no Media Player application on the 8100 that can play MP3s. i just got mine yesterday. but it's giving me more disappointment. it only gives you 32MB of memory, not 512MB. it doesn't even have options to transfer MP3 files from the PC, let alone play them. there's not even a USB cable that comes with this $200 gadget. what's up with all this. it almost seems like, VZW disables and changed the specs until the MOD service comes online. at this point, ...
