playing mp3s on the 8100's stereo speakers was a big selling point, but since i know hear you can not use your own mp3s i am turned off. i hear the 815 can play mp3s but whats the point if the speakers suck. help me out so i can choose the right phone.

The back speaker is pretty good for a phone! Ringtones are very loud! You will want to use a stereo headset to play MP3s anyways for true sound. Do you like the looks of the 8100? I saw it yesterday and played with it. I found it boring!

i think they both look good, but the fact the 8100 doesn't play mp3s is disappointing. on the the other had i have always had an lg and never had any problems.

I've had LG's as well. Motorola IMO has a better UI, better styling, better reception, and more options than an LG. I would try the Motorola. I'm sure that you will be happy. 🙂

the stereo speakers on the 8100 is amazing, but what's the point if you can't play MP3s. unless you really like VCast programs, which is not big with me, i'm trading in my 8100 for the e815. very disappointed with the 8100. had it for four days.

Besides, if you wanted to listen to mp3's I'd say just drop by RadioShack and buy this:

and listen with any pair of headphones...why bug everyone around you by playing your music? The point is to play mp3's not to be an all-in-one stereo system, it is just a phone afterall 🙄

Hi just wanted to let you know that I have the motorola e815 for my 15 trial...was waiting for the Lg 8100 to come out but have been seeing alot of bad things about it..mainly the MP3 issue. I had the vx 6000 and loved it. But I also had the Motorola T720 which I hated..so I was not too happy about trying another moto. Anyway, I was really surprised on how the speakerphone sounded! very clear..I downloaded some MP3's to it last night from the Walmart catalog, as discussed in one of the many forums, and they sound AMAZING! I didn't have to use any stupid cables or pay for them. I love that about the moto. There are alot of other things about this phone that I DONT like, such as the camera/video recorder, voice reconition, but as far as the spe...

what exactly don't you like about the camera/video recorder, and voice recognition? Those are actually some of the things I love about the phone...

My pictures & video came out really grainy..i adjusted the contrast tried the flash, brightness, changing the resolution etc..nothing worked. And to boot, the leather case strap keeps popping up in front of the camera lens! annoying..maybe I just got a bum phone. Im happy about reception and call quality so I will probably will keep it for that reason..after all thats what its for.a camera is just for added fun. I am curious about the Lg vx8100. But do want to be able to download MP3s if I can. I did it with the E815 and it was easy and free! And they sound great!
