You're going to trade in the 815 because you can't figure out the screen saver???? 😕

Sounds like you are pretty picky and I would recommend you go with the 8100 because I don't think you will ever be pleased with the 815, or any other phone except one similar to your old one.

There are a lot more difficult things to learn about the 815 than the screen saver!!! 🤣 Maybe you will find the 8100 easier. 🙄

The screen saver was the same thing with the V710. The only one where the screen saver works that i know of is the Motorola A840 Global phone and thats just because i have that. Trust me this phone is not worth getting rid of because of a screen saver.

I haven't seen my screen saver turn on either. Since the screen doesn't seem to stay on very long anyway, I'm not too concerned about it. Although, I am curious to see what it looks like.

you need to set your screen saver to go off after 1 minute then set your display timeout for longer then 1 minute and it will play on the internal screen. Its like a PC if u set the monitor to turn off after 3 minutes and set a screen saver to turn on after 5 minutes well the monitor will be off and you wont see the screen saver

VZW has no idea, i went in yetserday, and they were perplexed.

Thanks

nevermind I found the display time out

but it still doesnt work, i turned the display timeout off, and left the screen saver on 1 minute. It stills goes off! Black screen no matter what. I just dont think the function works.

But it definitely doesnt affect the phone!

Why would you even care about a screen saver? 😕 Do you really want to stare at the screen and watch a screen saver?

Yes, the screen saver works just fine, but you got to read the manual and set it up properly. The manual will also tell you that it uses more battery power, so why use it?
🙄

See page 60 of the manual. Don't forget to set the display timeout too, that is also in the manual. If the display times out before the screen saver kicks in you of course will not see the screen saver!

Remember, the longer your screen stays on, the faster your battery dies, but maybe that is ok for you if you really want to watch a screen saver! 😉 You can also set the backlighting for a longer time too if you really want to k...

i traded in my 8100 for the moto 815. someone may be concerned about a screen saver, but i couldn't work with the 8100 since that phone didn't have a working MP3 player, nor could it PC sync, nor did it allow the full usage of 512MB that it was touting on. only 27MB was actually available to the user. 512 is apparently shared memory.

i do have to admit the 8100 is a great phone otherwise. great speaker, sturdy construction, etc. but no features, no go.

I bet the same kids that complain about using the screen saver, MP3 player, bluetooth, longer backlight time, longer display time, are the same ones we will see in some later post complaining about Moto lied about the battery life time!!! 🤣

You can't have it all kids!!!! Remember, this is a PHONE!! Just be thankful of the little benefits thrown in that you can play with. 😉

I got my first e815 the day it came out at Circuit City. My screen saver didn't work, no matter how I set the timeout. I had a few other problems with it as well, so I traded it in for a phone off the next shipment. Now everything, including the screensaver, works like gangbusters. I think there may have been problems with some phones on the initial shipment. That was also the idea I got from the Verizon rep who exchanged my phone. When I told him I wanted to exchange my phone because of a few problems, he said "Yeah, the new ones are all fixed"- before I even told him what my problems were. Try trading in if it bugs you that much.
