LG VX-8100
I JUST GOT MY 8100 yesterday. it's a neutered phone right now.
i just got mine yesterday. but it's giving me more disappointment. it only gives you 32MB of memory, not 512MB. it doesn't even have options to transfer MP3 files from the PC, let alone play them. there's not even a USB cable that comes with this $200 gadget. what's up with all this.
it almost seems like, VZW disables and changed the specs until the MOD service comes online. at this point, the 8100 seems like a neutered phone.

the GET IT NOW memory info says that there's only 27MB. I just talked to the 611 rep, and she confirmed after talking to LG that there is no Media Player application on the 8100 that can play MP3s. So currently, YOU CANNOT PLAY MUSIC on this phone. this is aside from the MOD that's supposed to come out months from now.
i had also bought MiniSD card to see if a media application might pop up for music playing, as the store rep suggested. NOPE!! there is no way you can play music files.
ANYONE on the inside know when VZW will getting this Media player application for the 8100? otherwise, i will definitely return this phone. it also seems like the Moto E815 cannot play music. i checked that out too. there is no expansion slot...

Phonescoop shows that there actually is an expansion slot:
Card Type: TransFlash / microSD up to 256 MB -- from what I've seen, it's hidden under part of the face plate (that light gray piece snaps off).
Maybe someone from the 815 forum can let you know if it will play mp3s. 🙂 Or maybe I can, when mine arrives (still not completely sold on it, over the 8100, but I couldn't wait anymore, lol). Of course, that's assuming I'll be able to figure it out....

The E815 does play MP3s. The slot is on top of the phone. The faceplate does not snap off. The phone is incredibly awesome! You can transfer mp3s, ringtones,pics, and videos onto the phone with transflash card. You can even download your pictures saved on your computer to the phone, but not ringtones-I tried. A rep with Verizon told me that Verizon messed up and was supposed to disable picture option. Good for us!!!

Don't think Verizon "messed up". We have a 7 page handset launch document that shows what you can do with the t-flash card and it shows that you can even save pics or flix from the phone that you create or that were sent to your phone. You cannot save pix or flix that were downloaded through get-it-now, however. I sure hate to hear the 8100 may be "neutered". I'm not a music junkie, but would really like the mp3 player on occassion. Still would not risk buying a Moto. Sold too many to friends who had problems with them.

bro motorola sucks and they allways will....there star tac phone was great for the time and there v60 wasnt bad either and i even kinda liked the t730 but there new stuff just sucks

The E815 is simply amazing. You really should play with the phone and use it for a few days before you say that ALL of their new stuff sucks. The V710 sucks. But the E815 is awesome.

I wouldn't buy a high def TV when there were no high def channels but now that there are many channels I bought one,
Same with the phone, Why do I want all the bells and whistles when they don't work?
All please a little guidance before I make my purchase this week. E815 or 8100?
