Why would you think there's a difference between 810F phones? They are all rated the same...
Have you held this phone Jake? I have, and it's nice. Used to work for Sprint, and it feels the same as an IDEN handset.
While he's at it...
Why not dig into why it costs more to get your hair cut, car washed, lawn mowed, taxes done? Let's tap into why it would cost you to hire a plumber at $65/hour?
You all get my point. It is none of the governments concern as to what a company charges for an OPTIONAL service. If they want to charge $1/SMS, that's there right as a business in the US.
Re: Sprint Airave
Did you not read "in my area"?
Re: Meh (wrong!)
Woah there all caps guy...
What exactly is "Basic 3G"
It's either EVDO or 1x, and I've also read that it only supports 1x.
Re: this is already included....
Dude, you gotta switch to Goog 411. 800-4664-411. No adds, still free. If you are using a voice driven information source, this is the one to use.
Re: to sprint reps!!
You could go to
http://www.nextel.com/en/software_downloa ds/mobile_broadband/index.shtml
download the software on a thumbdrive, then transfer it to his computer in the store.

Cellenator, I do agree with virtually everything you've posted here. But enough with the overuse of the emoticon, really...
Re: AT&T's Current Top 5
Correction,
Samsung 747 is the SLM, a slim (hence the name) clamshell with mid-to-high end feature set (3G, 2MP camera, MP3, stereo BT, etc...)
Samsung 737 is slider.
FYI
Re: Internet Sharing Problems?
You need PAM (phone-as-modem) on the account and you need to use Sprint's proprietary connection manager software.
Just click on this link and select your OS from the dropdown menu.

Re: Confused...?
Wouldn't it take longer to open up the camera, take a pic, compose an outbound MMS to them, send the pic, then wait for a response. You could Google it much faster you would think, right?
Confused...?
The article reads
"Users can capture a picture of any TEXT with their camera phone and send the picture as a picture message to m@thrrum.com."
What would be an example of when you would use this?
Re: free?
(Conversation from 1996)- I think I read a story about some no-name company who gives pretty much everything for free to consumers and charges companies for advertising. It's a small start-up out of Mountain View, California I think the name is "Google". Oh well, it'll never work.
"Pints of interest"
I read about this feature. It shows you locations of bars in your vicinity.
I know, I know...
Link is broken
Anyone have a link with more information?
Re: Linky w/ Pics
I feel like a real boob now...
At the bottom of the article, it says that the picture is not real (though I've seen the same pic floating around other sites).
My apologies Scoop.
Linky w/ Pics
Wow, for a phone website, you would think Phonescoop would show us a pic and maybe some more info.
Anyway, enjoy :D

Actually, the SERO website has the phone # listed right after you access it with an email address...

Re: This is...
Interesting.
Can you post a link on the results from the test markets Sprint did Airave on and "people didn't like"? I did not know they made it public yet...
Anyway, it is actually a pretty good idea. If you like everything about a carrier but they provide poor coverage inside your house, this is a great idea.
Re: Do something original ATT....
You really are comparing apples and oranges.
I don't get you guys!
Out of all the posts on this topic, not one of them opposes this bill because they don't like the concept of it.
Do you guys really want to be stuck next to someone leading a conference call for 5 1/2 hours from JFK to LAX?

Re: Video Calling
AT&T already does...

Granted it is one way only for video, but I hear it's pretty cool.
8 Minute Review Showing Nothing New!!
Come on Rich, I expected some big bang at the end :D
This really is another fairly bland smartphone from the Sprint lineup.
Finally!!
I can't imagine why it took so long in the first place. I guess it takes something like the iPhone to get Microsoft to realize that people will pay a premium if the device exceeds expectations...
Re: i bet the iphone already does this......
Sorry guys, and I'm not intending to thread-crap, but I had to reply.
Had the Mogul before, and as I type this from my iphone I have to ask. How many times have you all had to soft reset your Moguls? I know I did more than I can count. iPhone, not once. Much smoother all around, and very fast to operate.
Re: HUh just calls? Do you not use your phone?
Wow, corporate brainwashing at its finest!!
Honestly man, if you had zero data capabilities on your phone, would your life be severely affected?
I can tell you that most people I know who are married, work 40+ hours a week, and have children don't use much aside from phone calls.
Remember, the "ideal" customer is not the most common customer.
Another Sprint Blunder!!
These phones (CDMA/GSM combo) are such a niche device.
The Samsung ip830w was a complete failure. The only reason the BB 8830 does well is because it's a Blackberry and the first to Sprint with a trackball, external memory, and voice dialing.
I don't know one person who makes a buying decision on a device based on the idea of overseas roaming capabilites. Not to say that those people aren't out there, but it is quite a ...

SPRINT STORE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE!
Hey everyone,
Please don't see this post as some type of spam or blurb message. Check my profile, I've been on Phonescoop for a long time now.
Anyway, I work for a chain of indirect Sprint stores that is going out of business and has a ton of inventory to get rid of. We have a lot of current model phones and accessories. So, if you're interested, email dan@cwcpcs.com with what you want and make an offer.
Re: PLEASE READ!!!! lol
Here's a couple of suggestions; either get a phone that supports GPS internally, get an external GPS module, or wait till Q1 of 2008 when they launch the upgraded firmware which allows for GPS use (for Sprint at least).
Re: ATT. to all bashing Sprint about this issue...
And the idea that "Qchat" (which is not even the correct name, it's HPPTT [High Performance Push-To-Talk]) operates on the EVDO Rev A network anyway. Which, as you may know, does not cover much as of right now.
Re: Great
Yes, but they committed to continue service on the IDEN network through 2012 at least. This would be detrimental to Sprint. Not only bad for the legacy IDEN customers, but for the bundle of people, who in the last year have purchased Powersource handsets. These would lose their value completely without the IDEN network. This would actually be considered small potatoes to my next point.
More so, IDEN services so many Corporate Liable and Public ...

Re: OTA Music Downloads...
Using you're brilliant theory, iTunes is a service that has not found it's target audience yet, and has not been a profitable service for Apple nor a functional service for consumers! What were you thinking as you typed your post? /;|
Re: Not bad
I have to say that I would agree with you if I had not held the phone.
When I got my hands on it, it felt right. The keyboard is very well spaced, and the screem position actually makes sense. I think this is one you'll need to get hands on with before it makes sense.
By the way, besides EVDO, what is all the fuss about? This phone is fairly feature rich... :?
$70/month!!!
Wow, and some customer complain about $25/month for data and wifi on the PPC Mogul...
Re: Email capability?
Sprint Mobile Email is a free application available for download. As long as you have a data pack ($10/month is okay), you'll be able to access gmail, yahoo, msn, hotmail, aol, POP3 or IMAP email addresses.
It even supports "push" type technology by sending a text message when you have a new email available. I use it, and it's a pretty cool app, works quite well. :)
Wifi??
Did I miss it, or does this not have wifi?
Re: Anyone else think this is ugly?
Or possibly the $99 price point?
