Did someone fail economics 101?

Oh yes, i will spend a few billion on this 25MHz sliver of a license, and give out free service.
There are many ways to gain revenue from services. Advertising is one.
...
Like the other poster stated, advertising revenue would be one; what compnay wuold not pay to have its advertising go through the thousands of daily users of free service?

I could see this working

Ether two ways, Rent the Modems out for a price, but allow other eq to work on the network (thats for all the sheep out there) and/or make it use a special software to connect, that report usage data / Ads to the user, there are tons of way to make money, but making things free, put a 5gb cap on it, and chrage Overages (thats easy to go over on a Laptop)

I think its safe to say that the current us postal service is going to be failing pretty shortly with its need to deliver mail to almost every house in the country when half of the mail now is just junk anyway. I think that the government should start to think about replacements for it one of them being a government controlled e-mail system with a street address instead of a personalized e-mail address as the alias. The system would work much like the current postal system in that there would be a small fee for sending messages in order to maintain the network and also this would almost completely eliminate the current business model for e-mail spam, postal spams model would still work but I'm sure when junk mail isn't the only thing holdi...

I don't think that would work very well at all. Why would I send a toll mail via an electronic system that the government can read what and to whom you are sending when I can send an encrypted e-mail with my current mail provider for a flat access th...

the government finally realized that with the current market projections that 1/2 the people in america will be homeless AND on welfare.

Dont disgriminate against the poor... they need FREE internet; so YOU can pay for it! 😁

hurray for socialism... or should we say OBAMAism--- this is that change he keeps talking about.
