Out of all the posts on this topic, not one of them opposes this bill because they don't like the concept of it.

Do you guys really want to be stuck next to someone leading a conference call for 5 1/2 hours from JFK to LAX?

So long as the person speaks in a reasonable tone of voice, I don't think I would mind at all.

Have you ever sat next to some people (or worse between two people) who were having an animated conversation on a cross country flight? What is the difference between that and someone who is on the phone? The same rules of etiquette should apply in both cases, but I don't see the government legislating that people have quiet conversations on airplanes.

I have also sat next to people on long international flights that had severe cases of BO, which I find far more offensive. Where's the legislation to prevent that?

I say that the government should let the market decide. This doesn't come for free, either the airlines need to invest in repeat...

I think they should ban children from flying as well. Not only are children annoying on planes, but they kick the back of your seats. It's even worse when the parents are next to them and don't care. We shouldn't stop at banning cell phone chatter, we should at least add children to the HANG UP act. Hell, we shouldn't stop at banning children from airplanes, we should ban children that any places mobile phones aren't allowed.
