"Rev-A is Rev-A"? Give me a break. Stop whinning Verizon!!!

This is post in response to some people I have seen saying that Gizmodo's recent test on data is worthless, because it was "too random" and Sprint and Verizon use the same Rev-A technology, so one can't be faster than the other. People have also said that it isn't accurate because they may have been closer to Sprint towers in these test, which wouldn't make it "fair".

Your claim is ridiculous!!

Saying that EVDO Rev A is the same speed for every Service provider is an un-informed ignorant statement. Saying that is like saying that every car that uses the same type of gasoline can go the same speed!! Speed tests and quality of signal depend more on just the technology that they are employing, the hardware that each carrier uses, the...

I keep hearing...

...that the FCC is gonna make it mandatory that wireless carriers make text messaging rates cheaper due to it causing inflation. I guess reasoning is basically that it only costs providers pennies on the dollar, its not fair that they charge as much as they do.
Anyone got any insight on this?

END OF TEST DRIVE AND CHANGES TO NE2

I got this report from Phonearena.com and this was published on January 31st. This is good material because verizon is giving less on their rebates and getting rid of their 30 return policy. Now we do something better than Verizon. Pass the word on. DOWN WITH BIG RED.

Those who want to take full advantage of the largess at Verizon Wireless need to open an account very soon because huge changes are apparantly coming to two of Big Red's most popular programs to grab new wireless customers and keep them. If a leaked memo to Verizon employees is the real thing, starting on February 15th, Verizon will eliminate their Test Drive program. This deal allowed new Verizon subscribers to try out the service for 30 days with no risk. If...

Sprint's Layoff's and my 2 cents before the wolves attack

Although it sucks for those employee's, it's necessary in today's economy, and to maintain cheaper rates than both AT&T and Verizon. Yet Sprint still has a higher rated Network for data AND call quality than both AT&T and Verizon, check all of the independent study's. Right now they also have a higher Customer Service rating than both company's, AT&T's customer service is a joke and Verizon is as poorly rated as Sprint was. Dan Hesse has to do damage control for the old CEO's mistakes, and this was just necessary.

Business is business, and the company is doing what is has to do to survive. Considering the praise that Sprint has recently gotten for it's network strength and quality, it's customer service, and it's value, I can't see ...

which is better? Verizon, ATT or Cingular, also number portability

I am in So Cal. Have had ATT TDMA for the last 4 years. It seems that the service has deteriorated over the last 6 months. I get no answers from ATT, although their customer care people try to be helpful. Are they trying to push customers to their new GSM? I am considering a switch to Verizon (for better coverage and service) or Cingular for phones with better features (bluetooth, world coverage, speaker phones etc.) I don't want to give up good coverage or call quality. Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations?

I talked to a Cingular "sales" guy who was asking all of the closing questions to get me to switch now. When I said I was waiting for 11/24 and number portability, he said it wouldn't happen except for 100 major citie...

Sprint or Cingular?

I have Sprint & just changed my plan to get more minutes. This extended my Sprint contract. Is there a way around this? I'm thinking of changing to Cingular, any input would be a huge help.

AT&T dumping Motorola ?

My company prefers Motorola phones (due to Motorola Phone Tools, standardized charges, etc). I just saw that the Razr is on AT&T's end-of-life list (maybe they are embarrassed that it still outsold the iPhone?). That just leaves the V9X, Z9 and Q9H -- all of which are too expensive and too fragile for my needs. Phone Scoop doesn't list any Motorola models at "coming soon" for AT&T. Has anyone heard if they are going to quit carrying Motorola phones altogether? It sure seems that way.

Verizon or Nextel Push to talk,, Whose better?

I think nextels push to talk feature is excellent but there phone service sucks,,, Verizon push to talk service could be better but there phone service works and the reputation of verizon is everything gets better with time so watch out Nextel you have competition, and the rest of the carriers are not far behind and once anyone of them perfect there walkie talkie service nextel will be out of business, so they better start fixing there calling service and getting with the times..

Verizon by far! 😉

Blackberry Slider for Sprint in 2009

So I have from a very reliable source that Sprint has exclusive rights to a Blackberry sometime in '09 that will have the same OS as the Storm, 3.2 megapixel camera, SIM card for World Phone capability, and still on the fence but very possibly including Q-Chat. It will have touchscreen interface identical to the Storm but with a full slide-out keyboard. Picture the Mogul's keyboard on a Storm and this is what is planned. Personally I think this is a much more desirable phone for true business users, I think Sprint did well with the iNstinct but have been lacking a phone that will truly set them apart. Whether it remains exclusive or if they will have the same agreement with RIM that Verizon has with the Storm (sales quota) remains to be ...
