So you don't think a GSM carrier could buy Sprint

Here's a couple excerpts about the history of Sprint PCS.
"Although the current Sprint PCS network utilizes CDMA, the Washington area network was based on GSM. Eventually Sprint converted that network to CDMA, then sold the GSM infrastructure in 1999 to Omnipoint (which eventually became part of T-Mobile USA)."
And another;
"Personal Communications Service or PCS is the name for the 1900 MHz radio band used for digital mobile phone services in Canada, Mexico and the United States. Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), GSM, and D-AMPS systems can be used on PCS frequencies."
Let's face it, someone is going to gobble up Sprint. Weather out right or behind the scenes we'll see.

AT&T, Cingular, T-Mobile merger

I keep hearing about a possible merger. Obviously, roaming agreements are important between all three, but is a merger even possible? How could these GSM carriers merge independent of their parent companies?

How to avoid VZW termination fee HELP!!!

I have 15 months left on my VZW contract. I have the BB Curve and desperately want to switch to AT&T. I've heard the service isn't as good but I think the overall functionality of the IPhone is worth the downgrade in reception.

I've read that people got out of their contracts in 2007 when VZW changed their charge for texting from $0.10 to $0.15. But, they have changed anything in the contract lately so that won't work for me.

Another way was to find someone to take over my contract.

So, would anyone like to take over my VZW contract or know of any other ways to not pay the excessively ridiculous termination fee?

Thanks in advance!!!! 😁

Blackberry Storm

I'm thinking about getting the new Blackberry Storm, but when I went to the Verizon store yesterday, the salesn told me that Verizon had had as many returns as they've had sales!
Has anyone else heard this? Is the Storm really that bad or are people just not used to it, and giving up??
I'm a T-Mobile for 8 years now, but want the 3G which is not available in my area. Verizon seems to have the best 3G coverage. AT&T may be where I go if the Storm is as bad as the saleman said.
Thanks

Pink Instinct and Pink Lotus

Just so everyone knows Sprint will be releasing a few phones worth mentioning early in the first part of the year. First off will be the Treo Pro in January, slick design (designed by HTC), flush screen instead of recessed with a black case, i'm sure you can find pictures of it on the internet if you need to.

In time for valentine's day there will be a pink instinct and a pink lotus. None of the features will be different in these phones, although I have heard rumors that the pink Instinct will be a little smaller, I can not confirm this so wouldn't count on it. There are other phones on the road map for the first quarter, including 3 more Nextel devices spread out over the first quarter.

Enjoy.

Mini Instinct and Sprint Android

Seems the Instinct is getting a lot of love from Sprint. Just got word that Sprint is going to be making a mini-Instinct, call it the Instinct "nano" (just to put it in your minds eye), not sure what the name will be yet. From what I understand they will keep most of the specs the same, and offer it in more colors for the fashion concious consumer out there.

On top of that Sprint will be releasing their first Android powered phone in June in the form of.....guess what.....an Instinct case!!! I have heard rumors of a 5 megapixel camera and muli-touch capabilities, but not much else. This will make Sprint the first "major" carrier to carry an Android phone. Can't wait!!!

Hope everyone enjoys this preview of great things to come from...

AT&T buying more?

So this crap has been passed around in the AT&T forum and I havn't heard anything at work but a few people seemed to be informed about the legitimacy of the claim.
So just looking to see if anyone else has heard anything.
IS AT&T BUYING T-MOBILE????????????????
I would say even if they wanted to, even if T-MOBILE wanted them to, and even if they could afford it, would the FCC even allow it? I would almost say this would put an illegal monopoly on the GSM network, right?
What do you guys think?

I truly like verizon and have been with them for a while but, when i asked them at custsomer service they tried selling on on other phones and then told me no but i was at a store and a assitant manager told they don't know what they are talking about and it be on verizon and soon. NOw who is right and is it really worth switching just for the phone? i do have a macbook pro and i touch, so what do u think?

Any New Verizon phones coming out.

I have an ungrade for my primary account from verizon. I'm looking for a phone that has the mini usb charging config, because my work phone is that same charger. I was looking at the HTC Touch, but I've heard some things about the operating system not quite working correctly. I'm also concerned about the touch screen only thing and very few buttons. I've also looked at the Moto Q something with a keypad similar to a blackberry.
Does anyone know if any phones that would meet my specs above is coming out from verizon? I saw the HTC Touch Dual, which seems like it would work. IS verizon going to be coming out with that. I don't need or want the internet, but want to be able to sync my calendar in my Outlook.

Thanks
