Samsung SCH-i730

Has anybody tried the form fitting leather case with the cutouts for the screen and buttons pictured in the info CDs that come with the phone? If so where did you get it? I have the oversized Verizon case which is very bulky and would like something smaller.

Hi does anyone know if the bluetooth headphones work better or worse on either phone or the same. My husband has the i730 but has not used bluetooth headphones with it. A lot of people have the treo650's at his office and say the bluetooth headphones aren't that great. Just wondering if that would be the same for the i730.

I just spoke with a tech MANAGER at Samsung USA and they WILL NOT release a camera version of the i730 here in the US. They originaly had planned on having a camera built in but could not keep the OS stable enough to support the camera along with all the other goodies. That also explains the reason for the black spot on the back of the phone.

I am looking to reset the timers on the phone so I can look at my usages and I can't find where to reset. Thank for you help

I know this is apples and oranges but I'm looking for a phone that can be 'modulated' to relieve verizon restrictions (if you get what i mean).

E815 seems to be wide open, but it's not clear where the I 730 is at.

Can someone post an update as to what we know can be done to 'help' the I 730's functionality. The forum here isn't clear.

I have NE2 and need to make a decision cause I found out that the green screen on my old LG is actually kryptonite.

I am a new i730 owner (yesterday) and need to pair with the Mobile Ease system in a Lincoln (ford). The system pairs easily. When i try to dial, i get the message that that function is not supported. I installed and uninstalled this several times and it worked properly for 5 minutes then stopped.

Any ideas what i am doing wrong?? All help is appreciated.

Is there any hope whatsoever that this phone will eventually use:
1. PocketPC 5.0
2. Camera capabilities

Before I purchase this phone I find it necessary to eliminate any possiblity these options will be available sometime down the road. To be blunt, I don't want to kick myself in the *## a couple weeks from now after I purchase the phone and then become aware of the camera / Pocket PC5 option.

Has anyone had luck pairing the Samsung with the Lexus bluetooth system. I can't get a straight answer from Verizon. The canned answer is no from Verizon. I know it is a hit or miss proposition. I would like to know in advance because it will influence my decision on what phone to buy.

Is anyone have problems using speeding dialing. Sometime when I press and hold the number on the screen it works and other times it does not. Any ideas? Also have the working roaming come up in the banner screen, I am not roaming in my home area. I called tech support, and they did not understand why this was happen. Anyone having this problem? Is anyone else having issues with the voice mail indicator? My indicator doesn't work for voicemail, but works fine for everyting else. I have tried tech support, and have had three different handsets. I switched back to my 7000 and 710 and it works fine. All the settings on the phone are good correct. Am I missing something?

Does anyone know of some websites that you can get free games for the i730. I am looking for old school games like Monopoly and stuff. Any help would be appreciated.

So here's my dilemma...

- I use Voice Command (MS) and don't use Voice Signal's app
- I'd like to use Voice Memo's, but haven't been as Voice Command's default is the Voice Memo button (I know, I could use another button)

What I'd like to do is re-program the Voice Signal Key (lower right button) to launch the Voice Command application, but it is not one of the re-programmable buttons available in Start > Settings > Buttons.

Anyone know any hacks to do this? Thx...

the specs seem to imply it isn't data capable, but I can't believe that it wouldn't be...

I receive work related SMS from an e-mail address (much like alphapaging). As I only need to receive from the one is there any way to filter everything else to avoid spam? Vtext only blocks up to 15. Is there a program out there that will block for me? Thanks in advance for any help.

I do not believe this has been covered, or that this is appropriate for this forum, but I was wondering if someone could help me or direct me somewhere in installing instant messenging software on the i730. I am not an AOL client, but I have an AIM account setup. I have tried Wemessenger and Agile Messenger, but was unable to sign-in with my username.

So if anyone has any troubleshooting advice or other information, it'd be appreciated.

Hi there, new i730 owner who upgraded from i700. When I try to sync my i730 to my pc, the i730 says connecting to host, but doesn't. Active sync doesn't see it even though the device manager lists it. Tried soft reset, hard reset, pc reboot, reinstalling active sync, nothing works. If I reconnect my i700, sees and sync immediately. Even tried different ports. Verizon or samsung tech support doesn't know why. Any suggestion would be GREATLY appreciated cuz i'm goin NUTS HERE!

I spoke with Verizon and they said 😢 😢 d the I730 will be available on June 23 thru the business unit. I currently use the treo 650 and this phone sucks. Dropped calls,unit resets itself, sync works when it wants, locks up, and software glitches. This was my 4th unit, in 30 days, verizon service issue? Not likely, maybe if it was 1 unit but not 4. Palmone service levels REALLY SUCKS TOO, You wait on hold with them for over an hour, only to be told "CALL VERIZON they support the handhelds for verizon users" . WOW I asked if Verizon also mfg the unit they of course said "NO" but "PALM will not take any ownership in the problems". Having gone thru 4 units it can only be imagined how much time I spent on the phone with various tech supp...

First let me say that I LOVE the phone! It was absolutely worth the wait.

I have a couple of questions--yes, they may seem dumb, but please help! I am a new PPC/Phone user.

First--I am struggling to even know if the phone is on or off! I thought it was the blue flashing light, but that's not it. I have missed a couple calls because the phone was off and I didn't know it. Is there a clear way to tell beside pressing the little icon on the screen? Also, is there a way to know that the bluetooth headset is working?

Second--not sure about the EvDo thing--I have the unlimited plan so I'm not worried if I accidentally leave it on--will that affect phone function?

Third--there is very little memory available. I am a long time P...
