LG VX-8000

I talked to the Verizon marketing department (the person's name was Josh) and he said that the VX8000 would be released by the end of September!

🙄 does anyone know when this phone will be out?

Just to sum up some misconceptions:

No the unit does not support AMPS, forced or not, the functionality is not in the handset.

Yes, it supports Voice Dialing, but you must program your contacts first, not like the voice recognition on the v710.

Yes, you can save Picture IDs to contacts, but it's not full-screen like the Samsung 670. You also see the contact info, such as callerID name and number.

Yes, it has an impressive speakerphone, the audio quality of which, in my opinion, exceeds its direct competitors. However, I haven't seen a mode preservation at the end of a call. This may occur if you plug in a VPA, but I haven't tested for that yet.

Just wondering if anyone realizes that there is already an adapter enabling virtually every Motorola phone to become BlueTooth capable. It sells for $59.99, they will also become available for other manufacturers including LG.

We received the Motorola V710 and all of the BlueTooth accessories currently available, I will personally wait for the VX8000, due to the fact that it will be able to support BlueTooth when the adapter is released in roughly six months. The features and the 1.3 mega pixel CCD are well worth the wait.

Why wouldn't Verizon want to take advantage of this technology that has been readily available in Palm products and Sony Clies for several years? Other phones will, in time, have the capability of BlueToot...

Does anyone know if outer display of the phone has 65K or 262K colors? According to phoneArena.com, it has only 65K colors.

What makes the 8000 worth waiting for? I liked the call screening feature but it looks like they were dropped on both. What does the 8000 have that the 7000 doesn't?

I WAS READING IN THE HOWARD FORUMS, THAT EV-DO IS AVAILABLE IN SAN DIEGO. WITH THAT THE CASE WILL VERIZION RELEASE THE 8000 IN THE CITIES THAT ONLY HAVE EV-DO OR WAIT UNTIL ITS UP ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

I WAS TOLD BY LG THAT THEY SAID THE PHONE WAS TO BE RELEASED TO VERIZON BY THE END OF SUMMER. AT THE VZW STORE IN SAN DEIGO, THEY SAID IT SHOULD BE AVAL BY DECEMBER. I REALLY WANT THIS PHONE AND I'M SURE MOST OF YOU WANT IT TOO. THE 7000 IS NICE BUT I WANT THE 8000. HAS ANYONE HEARD NE THING?

Does anyone has any experience with LG and Audiovox's speaker phone. I have heard someone talk about LG's speaker phone is excellen, loud and clear; but Audiovox 8900 from Verizon wireless is not that good. it's not useful and loud enough.
I have never had any Audiovox phone, so I do not know how the speaker phone is.
By the way, how many second does LG VX 8000 status light flash? usually for LG phones are 10 secs, the status light will flash every 10 secs
Any comment or opinion would be appreciated

I am going to take an educated guess and say that since the 8000 has a status light, unlike the 7000, it will not have the colorful led's of the 7000. Just a guess...have to wait and see

Was in Verizon store this morning to look at the v710. Any comment on the keypad???

The two they had there indicated that the keypad numbers etc were printed on light weight plastic and some of the key labels were lose on the key pads underneath. I was astonished at the flimsy design. To pay for a design that looked like it could be destroyed in a minute was thought provoking. The one I looked at and used to test volume appeared to be a salable unit.

Great News! Just spoke with a representative from VZW support, and she gave me a concrete release date: September 15. She knew exactly what she was doing, so I'm sure she's correct. But, they don't have any information on price yet. I feel so special I found this information! Enjoy.

Does anyone know how long does (VX8000) keypad's light stay until?
I used to have VX 6000, now VX 7000 and those keypad's lights stay for 7 secs?
So how long is it going to be with this VX 8000?
I want to get this phone for my Christmas's present.

😁 As a verizon wireless employee...our techs always come into the stores as they are testing the new phones...well guys, the hype is everything to this phone...this phone is AWESOME!!!! One of our techs yesterday had one, and everyone in our store (employess only) had the chance to mess around with that phone...it takes a GREAT picture....the call quality is great...the hype is living up to this phone...so keep on looking forward to this phone coming out...b/c even though the 7000 is a sweet phone, the 8000 is what proves LG to be a good brand to own.

I saw a tech @ vzw in the Utica area with an 8000 on his belt. I asked him what he thought about it and he said it is a great phone. The pic quality is better the the V710. It is an awsome phone. It should probably be out by Christmas or January.
