Here is a link to howard forums...the guy who posted these pictures is reputable on the site and if you look close at one of the pictures, you can see the reflection of the VX8000 in the one guy's sunglasses showing that it is indeed the VX8000 taking these pics. I hope you enjoy!!

How can you tell wich are real and wich are fake? Are you familar with the National Geographic photos? I must admit that without a long lens I don't think it's possible to get that spider shot. The spider could have been a picture of a picture considering the cameras excellent macro ability. There were some shots of printed material, perhaps the same book.

I may be a little too skeptical, but in the only pic in that series where there seems to exist proof that it was in fact taken with the 8000 (the one with the reflection in the guys glasses) there may be a sign of fraud. If you look closely at the reflection of the person holding the phone, over his left shoulder there is an arm belonging to another person. when u look to his right u will see what I perceive as some type of other electronic device, possibly a digital camera. Very few of the pics in that whole series seem to be actual pictures taken with a phone. there is just no way that a 1.3 mp camera is capable of the depth and color of those shots. oh and the shot of the water on the leaves has way to much depth to it, the kind of pic t...

Another thing, the pics of the phone at the end of the page are actual size. I measured then on my monitor and they match the specs on the PC mag page. neat fact. I guess u could be a dork and print out the pics then cut them out of the paper and put the cutout in your hand. then ull have an idea of how big the phone will be. 😁

I actually feel that all of those pics are legit. Mainly because the camera lens will be ccd. Verizon will be the first carrier to offer this type of higher quality lens and megapixel. The phone will be able to take close up shots because of the "macro" setting capability of the phone.

Hmm.. I don't mean to be picky, but the camera sensor or detector will be ccd, not the lens.

CCD vs CMOS: From what I understand, the difference in performance of CCD vs CMOS for this application shouldn't be a big deal. Here's a decent link that talks about the technologies:

My take is that the CMOS tends to require more electronics at the pixel level, so the pixels are smaller relative to their center-to-center spacing, therefor they gather less light, and integration (exposure) times must be higher. So the CCD *might* perform better in low light when compared to the same size detector with the same pixel count.

Lens/focus: The thing that make me skeptical about these photos is the mac...

Well, I'll be damned.. This thing does have a macro mode for close-ups. Thats crazy.

I just read the thread in howards and I guess I have to take back some of what I said before.. although the ccd vs cmos is still legit. I think the lens and detector format are more important than ccd vs cmos, but that doesn't mean the 8000's camera isn't better.
