Does anyone know how the 8000 compares to the V710?

The 8000 has a 1.3 meg screen and the 710 has a 1.2 meg.

Actually I believe it is technically the same megapixels except Motorola rounded down and LG rounded up. The 8000 has CCD though, which produces better quality pictures.

Well, I have the V710 for 2 days and I want to return it. I'd wait for the VX8000. The pictures suck. The volume sucks. Its not all its hyped up to be. Despite the die hard V710 fans who will do anything to defentd this phone, it is not quality.

Well, I can tell you that I just returned a 710 that I bought yesterday and got the 7000 as much as i really want another speaker phone to replace my old 270c, Motorola let me down this time, If the 15th is the real release date for the LG8k i may see what I can pull off to swap the 7k...Any thoughts?

Just a quick note:

I don't see this phone being released anytime before the Christmas season, it wouldn't make sense. Besides, the 7000 came out in June.

It's a hi end phone and the 7000 is mid range. While I understand and agree w/ what you say Verizon's strategy may be to release it around the 20th, not as competition but as a hi end phone that costs alot of money. I know I won't be buying it until my cotract is up in Feb

Sorry guys, but Im telling you the truth. It is being released this year. The prospective date is Sept. 20. Admittedly though, like everything else, many times they predict on thing the postpone to another, but at this time it is around Sept 20. I generally find out the deffinent 2 or 3 weeks before it's being sold since I work for Verizon Wireless. As soon as I see the release date in print I'll let you know. Either way, it will be this year because I went to a summit meeting towards the begining of the year where they revealed the phones that were coming out, and this was one of them.

Any idea of the price?

did you see the Audiovox 9900 there also?

I dont think that this phone will be released until 1st quarter of next year. The major feature on this phone is that it is evdo ready. So that is the main reason why you probably want see it yet. Evdo is only in 3 states. So if you have the 710 or 7000 keep it until next yr.

I work for VZW. They last thing I heard was Sept. 20. I should be getting an email 2-3 weeks before it's release about the phone. As sson as I see that I'll give you the date off that. Until the expect around Sept 20.

Well, hopefully, the release date for the LG VX8000, won't be a "cat and mouse" game for VZW customers, like the v710 was.

I was going to get the v710, but have decided to wait for the LG VX8000. I currently use the LG VX6000, and I have personally been happy with it's performance. I just hope that this phone doesn't displease. 🙄

I walked into VZW in West Windsor, NJ. I was going to use my new every 2 on the LG7000 or Moto V710. The sales rep said that he was waiting for this phone (8000) to come out. He told me it will be out in Dec. which makes sensne to me. They are still selling the 7000 very well and will want to push the 8000 for the Christmas season. He said that it will be well worth the wait, I tend to agree with him.

Definately worth the wait.

I remember a month or two ago someone told me that Verizon sometimes lets their existing customers buy phone supporting a newer network technology, when it first comes out, at the promotional price. I haven't been with Verizon long enough to experience this myself, but is there any truth to that?

My guess is the phone will come out right before Christmas or not until next year.

Also, I feel bad for the person who wasted their money on the V710.

the 710 is BY FAR the best phone verizon has to offer...

i was hesitant to purchase it at first as well and wait forthe 8k or even go with the 7k but with the amount of cusomization the phone allows you to do makes it worth it. You can change from icons to list option which is much more friendly and pleasing IMO. also you can get rid of the main shortcuts on the front screen and i can se my picture of m girlfriend all day 😁 the v710 has had a lot of trouble from people who think it was goign to be THE phone to end all phones. well its using technoligies which are still very new to verizon and their coming along very nicely.
