I talked to the Verizon marketing department (the person's name was Josh) and he said that the VX8000 would be released by the end of September!

The phone is ready. Stop trying to get info on the release date of the phone, you will probably get nothing but wrong answers. Pay attention to the launch of ev-do, it is running in some markets and will be nationwide soon. The 8000 will be released along side that and all the info i have received is before christmas, possibly next month if testing goes ok. It is coming soon, but my best guess is at least a month out.
