Phonebook software...

Hi again!

Can anybody out there recommend better phonebook software (Java) for the V600? As a previous Nokia user I got very used to being able to have *one* contact entry per person that could contain several phone numbers, e-mail addresses, home addresses, etc. for that individual person.

The default phonebook in the V600 creates *multiple* entries for individual phone numbers and addresses, something that screws up nice and tidy organization quite well. Is there some available software for this phone that can provide the grouping I am describing above?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

X.

V600 Problems

I have a couple of issues with my v600. First, how do I send my own mp3 ringtones to my phone from my PC? Second, I have a problem when the ringer is set to "Soft", I can't hear anything through the earpiece and I have to use speaker phone. I think the answer to this is a trip to the AT&T Wireless store. Thanks.

Dialing Speed

I just got this phone and am disappointed in how SLOWLY it dials the numbers for my home voice mail. I have it set up to enter my phone number and pin after the voice mailbox number answers. My old Nokia phone zipped through these numbers; the v600 dials them in seemingly super slo-mo. Is there any way to hasten this?

Should I Purchase?

😉

I hope to purchase a phone from Cingular within the next couple of weeks. I'm not much of a tech expert and don't like a lot of the bells and whistles that come with phones, however I like the style and some of the attributes of the v600. Is this phone for a person like me who just uses the cell phone for calls and maybe pictures?????????
Any Suggestions??

Software to suppoer the DATA CABLE?

I just bought my V600 the other day and I went and got a data cable for it and I had to download Bitpim for it. Well all of the programs I have seen for the phone support every Motorola phone BUT the new V600. Does anyone have the data cable and a piece of software that supports it? If so can you PLEASE let me know! Email me at UncleAir@hotmail.com Any additional useful info will be greatly appreciated too, Peace!

E-mail attachments

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I can't find an answer to this one anywhere. When I send an e-mail to me phone and include an attachment, I get the e-mail but the attachment is not there. The icon indicates that I have a "new message with attachment" (envelope with paperclip), but when I read the e-mail there is no attachment. After reading the e-mail and returning to the message menu, the icon indicates that it is "read - nothing attached (envelope - no paperclip). Somehow the attachment seems to be getting "lost". I have tried to send many different attachment types, but get the same result. Am I misunderstanding things, am i doing something wrong, AT&T issue? Any thoughts?

V600 Chip in "glass" face plate

OK...I got my new V600 phone about 3 weeks ago. I am gentle with my phone, do not FLIP it open and SNAP it closed BUT the silver chrome border that goes around the black "glass" part has chipped on the left side right next to the camera lens!!! The right side is showing signs that it will chip also...Have others had this same problem and does Motorola have a fix for this so if I have it repaired it won't happen again??? Or would I be better off returning my phone while I am still under the 30 days????

This is the 1st complaint or problem I have had....I love the features on the phone, the camera is great, the ring tones are great and I love the colored light up feature

WHERE is the T-Mobile V600? Anyone? ANYONE?

I was assured back in April, by my good buddy Mr Fisch 13, that T-Mobile as going to carry a branded V-600. He told me any day now, just a couple weeks from now, sometimes this month...

Well, this is now the 2nd week in June. It's been a couple of months now. T-Mobile users claim they arew getting the phone, but can anyone tell me when?

T-Mobile has added new handsets, like the Nokia 6600 since then...why not the V-600? And why such a big uproar about unlocking, or getting T-Mobiles wap settings?

Anyone have a rational explanation better then "TMO IS BETTR THEN ATT YO FOR REAL I FLAME YO PUNK"? T-Mobile is clearly not better, even before the Cingular merger, AT&T had more then 10 million more base suscribers. That also doesnt menti...

transfering contacts via bluetooth?

I was wondering if it is possible to transfer Outlook contacts to the phone book in the V600 via bluetooth. Or do I have to purchase the expensive data cable? Thanks for your help.

Problems with mobile PhoneTools 2.0?

Hi all!

I just bought a V600 a couple of days ago. The transition has not been completely painless (been a Nokia user for many years) and currently I have a couple of questions about mobile PhoneTools 2.0.

1) Other phone vendors include synchronization software as part of the phone. Why on earth does Motorola charge separately for this? Field very wierd.

2) Does mobile PhoneTools only work with a Motorola Bluetooth dongle? I can communicate directly with the phone using external Bluetooth software, but I would like to use the mobile PhoneTools to synchronize adresses and similar things. The problem is that through mobile PhoneTools I am completely unable to get in contact with the phone. In other words, it seems the software does no...

Java Games by Bluetooth

I've downloaded .jar files to my PC but when I send them via bluetooth I get a 'failed' error.

Any ideas, my v600 does download and run the games directly from wap, just not via bluetooth.

Cheers

Can't use while charging???

I just got the v600. I let the battery run down completely. Then I plugged in the charger (it said charging so it was definitely connected)....but when I tried to make a call, the phone died. I waited a minute, had to turn the phone back on, made a call and about 10 seconds into the call, it died...

Can anyone see if this happens on your phone? It seems like you can't make a call while the phone is charging because it sucks the juice from the battery and I guess not through the charger?

(btw, I had no problem charging the phone, so it's not a faulty charger or anything from what I can tell...)

Thanks...

Software update to improve reception?

Hello,

I have a motorola v600 and I love it. The only problem is that it has terrible reception. I have tons of dropped calls.

Is there a software update out there to improve the reception or is there any other way to improve the reception. I really love this phone and don't want to get rid of it.

New Moto V600 in NJ w/ AT&T?

😕
I live in Monmouth County New Jersey most of the year and make fairly frequent trips north to Morris and Sussex County NJ. I need to know from anyome FOR SURE that the quadband service is reliable in those areas. At very least GOOD service. I don't expect perfect service from AT&T just yet, but soon 😉
Please let me know if you are an AT&T customer in NJ area and have this phone with GSM and how the reception and overall service is. Thanx a lot. -Dino

Finally Ordered my V600!!!

Waited and waited and finally bought it. I got the AT&T version from Amazon for $129.99 after rebate. Hopefully I'll get it next week. I'm upgrading from a T721 so I'm looking forward to all the new features. IS the screen really that much better?

My big question is what blue tooth head set should I get. I've heard good things about the Jabra and the Bluespoon? (I think that's what it's called.) Any suggestions?

Looking forward to joing the ranks!

What will TMobile charge current subscribers for V600?

They usually offer some form of discount to current subscribers, usually varying with how long one has been with TMobile, the type of phone/features, and the price of the phone without activating a new line/account.

Any guesses what they might charge current customers who've been with them a year or two, or what kind of discount they may offer.

I'm a big TMobile fan, but man does AT&T give its current subscribers some hefty discounts on phones. TMobile doesn't really seem to.
