Phonebook software...

Hi again!

Can anybody out there recommend better phonebook software (Java) for the V600? As a previous Nokia user I got very used to being able to have *one* contact entry per person that could contain several phone numbers, e-mail addresses, home addresses, etc. for that individual person.

The default phonebook in the V600 creates *multiple* entries for individual phone numbers and addresses, something that screws up nice and tidy organization quite well. Is there some available software for this phone that can provide the grouping I am describing above?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

X.

If you would READ your user guide, it would tell you how to fix the supposed "software problem" you are having. All you need to do is to set the phonebook to sort by primary contact number. Once this is done the phone will show one entry per contact. Also when you are entering numbers and want to add more information, hit the "more" key and it will allow you to add additional information. Unlike other manufacturers, Motorola give you a CHOICE on how your phonebook is arranged.

Perhaps I am missing something here. When I go into Phonebook - Setup - Sort by, my options are Name, Speed No., Voice Name, and E-mail. None of these consolidates multiple numbers under one name. Can you be more specific on how to enact this option? I don't find the V600 manual to be very user friendly or complete.

Oh! Glad to see I am not the only one awaiting an informative reply about this matter 😉

Answering my own question here:

After some more playing around with my phone and its various menus, I found what I was seeking. Go into Phonebook - Setup - View - then select Primary Contacts.

Now I'm going through my phone book and manually consolidating and deleting entries. After an hour of this, I'm finally on the B's...

BINGO!!! How to do this is also found on page 60 of your User Guide.

Page 60 of my User Guide tells how to redial a number. I'm wondering if I got the Reader's Digest version.

So being that you claim to read so much, why don't you explain these two things for me:

1) I have tried exactly what you suggest. Did you bother to then go and check the information for each entry? Yes, you have...
