Motorola V600

I have created 5 new catagories on phone and named them each for my 5 closest friends. then I set the catagories for phone book to 'all'
when the phone rings it lights one color for all parties that call.. what am I doing wrong? the manual does not go into depths about the subject. as a matter of fact I could not even find a choice for color ring ID to choose until I created the first catagory other than the factory ones. I have thought about changing the names of the factory ones an trying to use them for the 5 persons but dont want to mess up factory setting.... any suggerstions

Check this out:

Phone #1: Purchased, walked out of the store, noticed a tiny chip in the chrome "V" shaped piece on the face...

Replacement #1: Battery meter never changed, ever...

Replacement #2: The flip hinge was loose, causing any lateral movement ( top flip moved side to side when closed) to trick the phone into thinking it had been opened, then closed and would answer and hang up any incoming call.

Replacement #3: 1 week later noticed a tiny crack on the bottom of the same "V" shaped chrome piece on the face. Taking it back to Best Buy today...

When i update my contacts from outlook to the V600, the email entry for a contact gets a new entry put into the phone..does anyone know how to stop this ?

does anyone know of another way to download mp3 ringtones on the V600 without having to use sooo much memory? if so, where do you get the tones? because i've been getting mine at walmart by just getting the URL from the preview on the songs. any help will do. thanks. peace.

Does anyone know how to unlock the V600 for AT&T.....or know how i would go about doing it...if i could call ATT...or...take it somewhere...Please let me know....

I hate that I can't use the speaker phone until after the phone dials and makes a connection, plus it seems like the person has already answered the phone and said hello once or twice before I can activate the speaker.

This bugs me to no end, hopefully some can tell me how to change this. 👿

Any recommensations for a case for the v600...compact, protects the screen and black portion of the case but does not hinder viewing in sun light (reflections). Could be a case or slip on panels

it should be noted, that lack of iSync support isn't really moto's fault as much as it is apple's. apple adds support for phones into isync, writes up the translators, etc. isync is pretty much a niche market.

the good note is apple already supports several moto phones, and as long as the data format hasn't changed much, there will probably be an update to support the v600 in the future. no surprise it isn't available now as the phone isn't "officially" available anyway.

personally, i gave up on isync a while ago. i also have a palm t3 and isync just didn't sync up my ipod, palm and t68i very well. it kept doubling contacts and calendar entries (with ical). i keep all my contact information on my palm now, back it up with palm desktop ...

I have searched all over, but can not find the mute function. I would use it on conference calls to keep out background noise.

I can't believe it's not in the phone, but since I have found at least 1 undocumented feature already, I am not giving up hope!

This was given by Hoowdydoit or whatever and none of that crap works. There are three programs on that site and none of them work. Is there anyone here who can provide a link to a site with a program that will allow me to transfer ringtones, pictures and more with relative ease? If u don't know, don't speak if you do please reply back with instructions on how to d/l it. Thanx, I am starting to hate this stupid ass phone now...why do they sell a cable for it and not have stuff for it? 👿

Does anyone know where I can get the palm driver for the v600?

Actually, I'm able to pair the two devices from a bluetooth standpoint, but when I tried sending an SMS message, I got an error, which I think is due to not finding the correct driver for the v600 to download in to my palm T3. I used some Txxx driver, which I guess only partially works.

Any help would be appreciated!

OK, My computer crashed!!!!!!!!!!!!! I lost Mobile Phone Tools 2.2 and I need to get it so I can connect with my V600. Please help I need to find a site or other source where I can get this software for free. I know its out there I just don't know where it is.

Okay, so some of you have read about my plagued V600 experiences. I went to Best Buy last night because of the chrome chip problem. To get a brand new V600 I had to void out my Service Plan (I had used it 3 times before so I gues I got my $40 worth).

So in effort to avoid any more frustration - I'm liquidating my BRAND NEW Cingular V600 and all 99.9% BRAND NEW accessories.

I could use some opinions on what to ask for or how to sell this stuff (all together or piece by piece). OR if anyone wants to make an offer on any or all, let me know before I ebay it this friday 6/18.

Does anyone know of any software for the the PC that will work with my data cable. I do not wanna have to pay for ringers and pics and all that, that is why I got the cable. If anyone knows please tell me!!! And yes I am starting to realize the problems with this phone, I have had it 3 days and it just froze up on me for no reason, it was retarted! Please, help me. 😈

Again another problem.....camera decided to stop working on my phone. Anyone now if this needs to be reflashed???

I think it's time I come back to reality and get a real phone that works. This phone's cost a fortune plus with shipping to and from Motorola center. Besides they did half the work I requested!!!!

Fortunately, as it happens considering the cracking/chipping problems with the V600s, I've been working mostly with reflashed V550/525s. But they have all the rest, plus their own set, of problems -- random power shut down, erratic battery charge life, useless battery meter, the ??? is it really charging/charged ?? issue, maybe bluetooth will work right today and maybe it won't, and clearly inferior signal strength/capture capabilities. The best of the bunch, sadly, has been my wife's V300 with it's inferior screen display, no bluetooth, and only tri-band shortcomings.

It's a crying shame Motorola had to screw up a good design like this. Reminds me of 60's era Jaguar XKEs -- brilliant engineering and core desi...

Hey, does anyone know how to transfer stuff by data cable without mobile phonetools?

I was in a local cingular store, and they will sell me a v600 with no activation or contract for 415.00. They say it'll work with t-mobile, any thoughts on this? If I buy it how hard is it to configure to work with t-mobile/ t-zones and email. I know i can just take my sim carfd out of my v60, but what else do i need to do? thanks

How important is bluetooth, in internet terms will a bluetooth enabled phone be a good choice compared to a non enabled bluetooth phone?
