does anyone know of another way to download mp3 ringtones on the V600 without having to use sooo much memory? if so, where do you get the tones? because i've been getting mine at walmart by just getting the URL from the preview on the songs. any help will do. thanks. peace.

The size of an MP3 file is directly connected to the sample and bit rate of the data in the file. Higher sampling frequency/bit rate means larger files.

If you want smaller file sizes you should simply use the appropiate software to save the MP3 files with lower sampling frequency/bit rate. In other words...there is not much others can do for you here. You should be able to fix this yourself by saving the files ...

First of all, you might want to consider an MP3 splitter to lop off the piece of the mp3 that you want to use... that will save you from having to upload the entire song into the phone's memory.

Secondly, you don't need the highest resolution sample, so consider using no greater than 64k sampling rates. (I thought I read somewhere that this is the max rate the phone successfully accepts... I only have one MP3 ring, and it's 64k).

One thing I've wanted to try, but have been too lazy to experiment with is mp3Pro. http://www.mp3prozone.com/ (free encoder here). This free encoder is not as proficient as a high end program like the old Syntrillium Cool Edit or Adobe audition, but for a V600 speaker, it should sound great! (Assuming this ...
