Sorry - was in a rush - sometimes short answers sound curt. Didn't mean to sound discourteous.

First off - I don't know what you did, or are doing - you didn't provide any details. If you downloaded PT 2.16, I think in the readme files it says you have to install 1.23 first.

If that's the case, download 1.23 also.

I don't have time to research it, but I was able to do this quite easily several weeks ago. I just don't remember the procedure, other than the fact that I read the txt files and got all I needed to know from that. Note where you unzip the program and look for the documentation - it should tell you how to install it.

If the txt files didn't solve your problem, and if you still need help, shout out.

OK well, I can download the software just fine but then when I attempt to open it, its fine until right up to the end of the install an error occurs, it says (unhandled exception error #: 0x80040707 setup will now terminate.) I use winzip 9.0 to unzip it. I don't know what the hell it is but i really want to get this fix any help is appreciated, thanks 😉

Sorry it's not working for you... I looked all over but do not have the install txt files on my pc - and I believe the 2.xx version may have prompted me to install 1.xx first, as the 2.xx was only an upgrade - not the full version. I just don't remember the specifics as to what I did when I installed it.

The web site says it is trial software, but I have had a fully functional version of MPT 2.xx for over a month, and have never been prompted to enter a key, or pay for a full version.

I am 99% sure I had to install 1.xx first, so that's what i did. I installed it before I ever connected the phone (and I do not use a cable - I use Bluetooth to connect).

The software installed on a Win XP system with no events or problems. If you al...

Don't do anything serious to your computer to fix this problem! All you have to do to make it work is this:

I assume you're installing MPT v1.23c. If so, then you will need to update to v2.16, and then all the way up to v2.20. So when you're installing v1.23c, and the error comes up, don't click any of the buttons on the error message. Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the Task Manager and "End Task" on the installation. Then double-click the setup for v2.16. From there just use the Live Update feature to get to v2.20.

This has worked for several people, so hopefully it will work for you. If you need to get the versions of MP...
