That is strange. I presume you have checked the properties of the file, tried opening it with other applications, and also double checked the file extension?

Also - could it have been saved as an MP3pro file? I don't know if that is a factor or not, but pro files are coded differently on the high end, even though they have an mp3 extension on the file name. They work fine in PC's, but maybe the phone doesn't appreciate it?

Another thing to consider is what the MP3 data frequency and bandwidth are. I don't know what the phone requires, but I just transferred a 64k file to it last night and it works fine.

Thanks Howdydooit, I tried again to transfer a different mp3 to my phone via blootooth and it began to transfer this time, however the connection was lost mid process, so i converted the song to a lower bitrate (to make it smaller) and the file successfully sent, however once i tried to play the song in my phone it said 'file corrupt' any help on this? thanks again

hmmm... I am assuming there is no corruption taking place on the transfer (I am getting good range on my V600 BT connection, and I have a usb adapter by belkin rated at 100 meters, so I know I have plenty of strength on that end).

I have one MP3 ringtone that I use for a mail alert. I know this one works for sure. From this link: http://www.wavcentral.com/tv/addams_family.ht ml

I downloaded the last one on the list "mails_in.mp3" - the site says it's 49k, but my phone says 19k. Also, the file properties on my pc say 19k. This one downloaded and worked. I think it says it's a 64k bit file. It's the only MP3 I tried to upload, so it's the only MP3 experience I have with the V600 - but it worked like a charm. Incidentally, when I up...

Should absolulutely work. I have a mono 64k file that is an excerpt of a tv show for use as an alarm.

It works great. That was a big selling point for me with this phone. Had just enough time to test and make sure that I didn't need to return it.

I have had great luck with 96khz Mono MP3 files. Just drag and drop thanks to bluetooth.

I had problems earlier with mp3 files, but here are a few errors you have to be careful of. First for me, only mp3's at a 32 Kbps rate seem to work. Also, the files should not be encoded in stereo. The file-size itself hasn't mattered too far. You have 5MB of memory on the phone, so ask long as you don't exceed that you should be fine. Well... that's what worked for me.
