Can't use while charging???

I just got the v600. I let the battery run down completely. Then I plugged in the charger (it said charging so it was definitely connected)....but when I tried to make a call, the phone died. I waited a minute, had to turn the phone back on, made a call and about 10 seconds into the call, it died...

Can anyone see if this happens on your phone? It seems like you can't make a call while the phone is charging because it sucks the juice from the battery and I guess not through the charger?

(btw, I had no problem charging the phone, so it's not a faulty charger or anything from what I can tell...)

Thanks...

Just make sure that when it's plugged in that the battery meter is showing that it's charging.

I had it where I didn't make sure the meter was showing charging and left it plugged all night only to see that it didn't charge at all.

This phone is a lot of drama.

This happened to me while I was charging it. Only, I was using a car charger. So I swapped out phoes and got a new one. Same problem. My car charger would charge my old v60 so I knew it wasn't the charger. I went into the att store and explained my problem. They gave me two new chargers to try. The motorola branded one ( with the M on the part that goes into the ac outlet) gave me the same problem. The other one they gave me worked fine. So now I can charge my phone and use it at the same time. Wierdest thing. In fact, the first time I had the problem, I had to take my sim card out and put it back in for the phone to register on the network. Hope this helps a little.

I think the current draw depends partly on how far your network connection is. Once I had the same problem described by gman246, and once I had no problems. I think the reciever/transmitter pair need more power to transmit signals at the edge of a network.
