I live in Freeport (Long Island) and work in Mineola. On the coverage map, my address in Freeport is on the cusp of 3g/Edge but it isn't a big deal since I have wifi. The coverage map has Mineola in all blue so I thought I'd be fine. Not so much. I get to work, I have 1 bar with 3g and within 15 minutes it switches to edge (although I do have full service). Kind of pointless to have a 3g phone if it isn't going to get 3g service. Just wondering if anyone else is having similar problems. I really thought Long Island would have better coverage than what I've been seeing 😢

Am I the only one that thinks this would be a very valueable tool?

For example, being able to password protect an app or icon like your notes, calendar, mail, photos, txt messages... nothing major, just to be able to apply a 4 digit code like the unlocking of the phone.

This is very useful when people want to "check out your phone". Everyone is obsessed with the iPhone and wants to play with it, but after having it for several months, there is a lot of personal/private information on mine that I don't want everyone to access with a touch of the button.

Does such an app exist? Am I alone with this?

I'm new to the iPhone coming from the Blackberry family. I have both Yahoo (sbcglobal.net / AT & T) and Gmail accounts on my phone. However when I delete a Yahoo email off the iPhone, it stays on the Yahoo server. It shows on the Yahoo server as being read, but not deleted. Does anybody have the answer or solution. Thanks for your help.

My iPhone CRASHED during the FIRMWARE UpGRADE

It just went blank & has now completely stopped working. Anyone else have the same problem with the original iPhone?

This happened when i was upgrading firmware right as i was ready 2 buy the new phone.

I have a BIG gripe about the iPhone and was wondering if anyone has a solution?

I do alot of texting. When using the iPhone i am only able to have a portrait texting screen. If i turn the phone to the landscape mode it does not change hence the keyboard never gets larger than in portrait mode ☹️

Anyone have a solution for this? It seems Apple engineers don't do alot of texting???

Can I get an iphone and get push email from hotmail??? I dont use exchange and this is one of the reasons I did not get the original iphone.

....How do you delete apps you installed frrom the app store? Also can you get rid of pre-installed apps you wont use (weather & stock app)? PLEASE HELP!

i am new to the iphone 3g world. anyways, i cant seem to find this setting or i am not sure there is one, but is there any way to change the timing that the backlight stays on when your done pressing a button?

ie: you just finish sending a text message and it stays on for about a minute or so. i know on the regular ipod you can adjust it to where it stays on for like 2 seconds. can this be done on the iphone 3g?

Apple just needs to throw in the towel. they cannot make a good phone. it has tons of bugs, terrible plans, weak replacement and troubleshooting options. it's just not a good. honestly a brick is better than an iphone. not to mention that AT&T is terrible. my sister works for them and i have friends who do too and none of them would recommend AT&T to anybody. is anybody else seeing this either?

I need to get a new phone and have been holding out for the iphone. After hearing more about it--I am thinking of just getting a BB Curve. It seem like the iphone has a way to go--maybe next year. No video capture, no cut and paste, no universal search for items or terms, no memo program. These are critical in order to conduct business. Also, no turn by turn directions on GPS. I am disappointed to say the least.

can you get MMS thru a 3rd party app??

Does anyone know if the sim card that comes in the iphone 3g is compatible with the first generation iphone? Will i be able to use all of the same features? Also would the person using the older iphone be able to use their sim in the 3g iphone?

First i just want to say, i am not an fan boy or a troll, can not stand them. Second is i think this phone is pretty cool. I did not own the first one although i did want to get it. I like to have all the fancy toys that are out. So i waited in line Friday morning for 3 hours to get the phone. With in 10 mins AT&T was sold out of the 16gb. I wanted 2 phones, for me and my wife, so i was going to buy her the 8gb and have the 16gb shipped. Luckily Fedex showed up with a delivery and i got my 16gb. i had to wait at the apple store to get the second.

so i was in line at 445 this morning got my iphone at 820ish. They sent me out of the store with my iphone in hand and contract. Problem is that it didnt get activated since itunes was taking forever. They said we could just do it at home. So im trying to activate it with itunes but itunes keeps saying the network connection was reset...cant be complete. This is BS. anyone else having this problem? 😡

For those interested in hearing aid compatibility, I went to the store to test the new G3 iphone. For MY hearing aids it worked in the T-mode. It was a little soft but it worked, however this is not to say that it works with all hearing aids. You'll need to test it with YOUR hearing aid. I'm eligible for an upgrade in a few weeks and will be going back.

I think it's hilarious this guy is having a blast posting a 5 star review while other poor AT&T customers are having a nightmare time trying to activate their iphones. So, I got to the Apple Store in King of Prussia, PA.

My bill is fine, my plan does not have a corporate discount and now I am eligible for an upgrade.

Stood in line from 7:30 to 12:30 before I got in.

APPLE WOULD NOT SEEL ME AN IPHONE.

Apparently there is some sort of IRU issue (WHAT IS THAT) and I can only purchase thru a corp at&T store.

This is my 2nd Activation NIGHTMARE. My first one was in June, 2007.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Did anyone else see this - in 3 stores I went into late in the day yesterday - they all said the same thing:

"We only had 45 iPhone's in Stock"

Just wondering if anyone had the issue.
