Couple the apparent subpar 3G reception the iphone has, maybe it can be fixed with software? and ATTs swiss cheese like 3G coverage and youve got lots of angry Apple fanboys. Oh well, maybe when the iphone 3G 2 comes out ATT will have good 3G coverage and the iphones 3G antenna wont suck.

I think the new 3G iphone is alot better than the old one, but Im still not gonna let go of my N95 for awhile. I get a 3G connection just like the iphone does except you can activate a N95 with medianet which is $15 dollars cheaper than the 3G iphone's 30 dollar a month plan. You can get an N95-3 with US 3g for about 450 bucks or less now n days. 15x24=360 dollars less for web over 2 years contract, and you get a phone with better reception, a way better camera,MMS, a browser nearly as good,GPS, tons of apps just like the iphone Although the iphone touch screen is awesome, the n95 isnt too shabby. Just my opinion, and the N95 has the greatest speaker phone that isnt a nextel phone.

alrighty. my situation is, I had an iPhone... I got the original one last year, first day it came out. Maybe two months ago it started to have a lot of problems, and getting tired of waiting for the 3g iphone to come out, I broke down and got a blackberry curve. Well now I'd like to try out the new 3g iphone. So my question is, since i had an iPhone and its clearly visible I had one on my account history,(still have the receipt for it) would att allow me to get the discounted price on the new iPhone? Judging by my situation, and the fact that I'm never late on paying the bill, and that I had an iPhone..do you think they'll let me go, and just add another 2 years onto the contract? does anyone know how long it will typically take apple to put out a software update 2.0.1? some serious bugs need to be worked out of this 3g model 🙂

If I purchase and iPhone 3g and activate it, Can I remove the sim card from the service provider that comes with the iPhone and put in another sim card from the service provider but has a different number on it?

I purchased my iPhone last friday just like a lot of people and I upgraded from the 2g to the 3g iPhone, but I have been very disappointed. First, I have not been able to get over 400kbps on 3G and I thought we were supposed to get around 900kbps to 1.5 kbps? I am also disappointed that the 2.0 firmware seems very buggy. Second, I know I have 30 days to return the phone, but if there 3G service is going to be this bad I am thinking of moving to another carrier. Would I get hit with an early termination fee for this?? Any insight or advice would be appreciated.

Before buying an iPhone, please please check the 3G coverage map in your area. It's the consumers responsibility to check their information first and walk into the store armed with information.

Second, check the reception in your area for you carrier or the carrier that you would like to move to and above all don't forget it is important to understand that no carrier can guarantee service indoors, so it's a 50/50 chance.

Third, You have 30 days, test the network make sure it works for you, also don't be afraid to call ATT and ask for a reception update and to check your routing on the network. I did and guess what I went from hating the phone to loving it, because my reception went from no bar to 3 to 5 bars in area where ...

OK...I need help from all you "modders" out there! I am trying to get the CYDIA installer app on the new Iphone so I can dowload some really cool things that will NEVER be available in the app store. I know this is Jailbreaking...but I want to do it...I extracted CYDIA but nothing....I need someones help!!

Why is that? My old iphone did! I have a cheap Sound Dock from Radio that did charge it.

In an effort to recieve MMS messaging on my old Iphone, I informed all my friends and family to send all MMS to my YaHoo account.

Doing so allowed me to view both pics and VIDEOS on my old Iphone by opening up the attachment in the email.

With the new 3G, I can no longer open VIDEO files sent from a cell phone (xxxxxx.3g2).

I have to go to my PC to view MMS video files now.

Thanks for helping me w/ the apps....If I may ask, Do you know how to send and receive MMS on the 3G Iphone. I checked into "Swirly Space" but you need some Jailbroken installer app or something...not sure what that is and on the website I see no place to download the app itself. If you have any info on this I would appreciate it. I have and 2 friends try to send me pics already ☹️

It seems like i read these forums and its the same thing everytime with the iphone. There is some jealous moron on sprint proclaiming that the iphone is junk and the instinct was made by the hand of god. Ok, we get it, the iphone lacks a few key features. WE KNOW.
