once again rhener7 provides incorrect info!!!

rhener7 said:
Yeah no carrier will really insure any phone above $300 because it is just not cost effective but we have a work around with a different company.. It costs $69.99 for one year or $119.99 for two years which is actually insurance not APPLE CARE which is only an extended warranty. Warranty does NOT cover any physical or liquid damage.

AT&T no provides insurance on every phone we carry other than the iphone and go phones!

The insurance deductable goes up:

normal phones like a RAZR or Samsung 737 has a deductable of $50

Blackberrys, blackjacks, etc have a $125 deductable!

rhener7 maybe you should go back to new hire training????

info for todays screw ups

as most of u know by now everyone is having problems activating there phone so its not just you while i was there trying to purchase the system went down several times and caused even longer wait times so now we have to try to activate it at home while it will be done its just hard for today because everyone is doing it at the same time also i heard old iphone users phones are being bricked by the 2.0 update so be careful but they say this is due to the phone and the 2.0 software being released on the same day so pretty much created double the traffic which apple should not have done on the same day just keep trying good luck

To AT&T Sales Reps...

So, is anyone else kinda amazed at Apple's inept performance in iTunes the second time around? I thought they would have learned from this since the initial launch.

It's so nice to have a product that people want so badly, and not be able to even log your computer onto the network to activate an account. Horrible, horrible preperation on Apple's behalf.

Save 15% On Your Monthly iPhone 3G Bill

If you're like me, you've likely grown hoarse from complaining about the iPhone 3G's increased plan cost. Thankfully, there is a way to mitigate the problem. Unlike the original iPhone, which Apple received service revenue kickbacks from, the iPhone 3G is a traditionally subsidized phone. This means that it now comes with some of the same benefits that other AT&T phones do, including the one that saves you 15% each month.

According to AT&T, college and university students, as well as employees of certain companies, are eligible for a 15% discount on their entire monthly plan. Read on for more info

Quoting an email received by a user at MacRumors.com,

Wireless numbers using the iPhone 3G will be able to receive

Only 300 charges on the battery

I was looking into buying the new iPhone 3G and was worried about the battery life as I heard about so many problems with the last one. I called Apple directly and was speaking to a rep who informed me the average lifetime expectancy of the new iPhone 3G's battery was only 300 charges! What? So you mean to tell me on such a "great" invention that if I were to charge my phone up every night that it would only last 10 months?

On top of that, since the battery is not removable it may mean that I have to buy an entirely new phone just to get a working battery. She did tell me that if I paid the extra $70 for the warranty that they "may" be able to fix it. What a joke!

"FLASH" on any phone?

Was wondering if anyone knows if there is any phone out there that does flash?

It really takes alot out of your web experience not having that IMO.

Will I lose my contacts (viper help)?

I sync'd my iphone last night, but I'm not sure if that included my contacts.

I am already at work(away from my itunes) and plan to go to get my phone soon.

If I buy and they activate the new phone at the store, what happens to my old phone? Will I still be able to get contacts/data off of it just incase it wasn't included in my sync?

I never sync'd my contacts to outlook or anything, because I don't use outlook.

guidance appreciated!

Do I have to sign up for a data plan?

As a new customer, do I have to sign up for a monthly data plan to qualify for the $199 iPhone? I lost my phone and ipod in the last couple weeks and really just want the iPhone to replace those, so I just want a phone/txt plan, not data. Don't know if that's possible though.
