BT a2dp conflicting info

I spoke at length with Nokia Tech Support today...and they claim that firmware will only be able to be updated if Cingular approves it ... and the phone is shipped to them, under warranty of course ...

o, I'm wondering now if this will ever have a2dp support. Not a deal breaker ... but it would sure be a nice thing ... Guess I'll buy a ad-46 so I can at least listen with stereo headphones ...

BATTERY DOING BETTER!!!

my battery life is doing better one it says in manual it takes few charges for battery to get it's full potential. second remember it is your new phone you are playing with it a lot taking lots's of pics. and fooling around with guess what it all affects the battery. third i don't think it is going to last for a week or so look at the screen size and resolution right now i am at battery lasting up to 3 days and average usage/talking on the phone. i have started to like this phone i was almost going to return it. 😁

Battery Life: A Concern

I've read a lot about the battery life on this phone. As of now, I'm torn between getting the RAZR v3xx or the N75 for my upgrade in a week.

While I've heard that the battery life on the v3xx is good, I've heard virtually nothing but bad things about the battery life with the N75.

I'm sure you can guess my big selling point for a new phone!

Some questions for existing N75 users:

Would "switching off" the 3G "autoroam" feature save some battery life? I could live with EDGE until I needed to "enable" 3G for loftier pursuits. I'm thinking this might help the battery life.

Does dimming the screen display help save on the battery? Again, just a thought...

Any feedback or tips would be helpful!

question about camera feature

Any word on the picture quality? How about the features on the camera (i.e., flash, editing software (if built in), zoom, bestpic)?

web browser

is it me or does the web browser suck? one of the reasons i got the phone was the browser and symbian guru said he opened engadget.com with no problems but my browser closes itself when i try or doesn't display most of the images. i get sorry memory full messages and i don't have any other programs running (except music player and idle screen which you can't close without handyman).

other problems i have is when i browse more than 3 pages i get the memory error. pages load really slow which i wouldn't mind if all the content showed up once it finally loaded but it doesn't.

anyone else have any problems or suggestions regarding the browser? should i give opera a try?

Anyone Have Any Suggestions ...??

OK - I've had the phone for 1-1/2 weeks, I really want to like it, but calls are an issue. some of the calls are fine - others are "muddy" - others are broken up and unintelligible.

I called Cingy Cust Svc and they suggested I shut the phone off in the daytime to reduce congestion on the towers (? - what good is it to have a phone?), or exchange it for another MODEL!

I'm assuming this is a 3G network issue because my 6230 & 6102 never have any call problems - but are those my only alternatives? Shut it off or return it and get another model ...???

Bluetooth+Voicenail

Anyone know of a way to access your voicemail with Bluetooth? It seems you can only hold the #1. When I had VZW I used *86 and set it as a contact. Any suggestions?

Music....finally

I received my Nokia ad-46 pop-port audio adapter today that lets you use any 3.5mm headphone/earbud set. The audio quality is great. It lets you use the voice dial feature, pause music, answer calls, & control volume. This phone is finally my ipod. $22.00 from mobile planet.

Questions... insurance/ purchasing it from.....

Can phone insurance be added to the N75 or is it an excluded handset?

Also, I've noticed Cingular has this phone on their website for $250 + $50 rebate, but Wirefly.com has it posted for $149.99 + $50 rebate and Amazon.com has it for an amazingly low price of $39.99 w/o rebates (which it will be shipped from wirefly). Has anyone used either one of these companies to purchase this phone?

And lastly, if you purchased a phone @ a Cingular store location and are planning on exachanging it (within 30 days of signing up), can your exchange be through a site like letstalk.com/amazon or a retail store like best buy?

Please advise.... Thanks! 👀

Branded phone

I've been reading this forum for awhile and I am amazed how many people are willing to buy a branded phone from cingular. IMHO the fcc should step in and stop this activity-if they want to get the 2 yr contract they should be able to accomplish that in other ways..i.e. discount on the plan or something on those lines. The things you cannot do on a branded phone just plain ruin the device..no wonder Nokia has given up on the American market

Is this on option?

I'm hearing a lot of complaints about the battery life. Not just in this forum.

I'm wondering if that has something to do with the phone "switching" between network modes. I know 3G challenge the battery life. This is why I was asking earlier if there was a way to disable that switching process.

Here's my thoughts. I would like a longer life battery, but 3G capability when I want to use it. I equate the 3G default as a waste unless I truly need it. I'm hoping the phone has an option to disable 3G until you need it. Then, you could enable it, use it, and then disable it again.

I've researched 3G phones and most of them in general have battery issues related to the use of 3G.

I'm all for 3G! It's a great feature. However, I ...
