Browsers

I've heard tell that there is Cincular and
Nokia browser. Know how to tell which one
you've got and, if so, how to change, and
what's the difference?

FRONT SCREEN

Ok, so I'm on my third nokia n75, and among other problems my front screen will just stop displaying incoming calls. It will still pop up that there is a missed call, a text message, etc. But it will not show an incoming call and I have to shut it off to get it to work again. All three have done this, and this one is worse than the others. I also have the phone set to answer when opened, but when the phone goes on the fritz and stops showing incoming calls (just ringing), it also wont answer when I open it, I have to hit the answer key. Has anybody else had this problem, know how to fix it, of am I just gonna have to live with it? Any help is appreciated.

Over a week of use & I'm sending back

Not having the hissing noise some are complaining about, but, many other features I use alot on the phone are just too awkward to use on an ongoing basis.

The on off switch (difficult to turn to vibrate/meeting mode) and the headset port are horrible. In fact the Cingular store salesperson told me to break off the port cover if it was in my way. What a suggestion???
When open the phone is too long. For me to have my ear near the speaker to hear clearly, people complain that they can't hear me. When I move my phone down so they can hear me, I can't hear them. I do like symbion and especially the web browser. Also, in order to set up the phone to notify you when you have a new email you have to be constently connected or have messaging...

FONT SIZE when dialling numbers

Okay, so this isn't specific to the N75. In fact, it's about my friend's N70 which he picked up in Singapore. When he dials a number, the numbers pop up on the screen, just like on our wonderful N75's. (Yes, unlike some people here, I am perfectly pleased with my N75!)
The problem is, when he taps the numbers in, the screen shows the numbers in this very skinny, smaller font, which is hard for him to see!
And since he uses his N70 mostly overseas, he is often dialing long strings of numbers to call home!
Is there any simple way to edit the font size or at least change it to BOLD?
It runs on Symbian Series 60 version 2 on it.

Mac Users...HELP!!!

Help-
I just received my new n75 and want to put music on my memory card. How do I reformat my music so it will play? I can load songs on the card but they are in a non-supported format (itunes...m4p I think) Every time I put a cd in my computer it loads in itunes. Is there a free file converter available and what is the best format to convert the songs to on the Nokia music player? My photos work great and I can transfer them to and from iphoto to memory card very easily and the pictures look great, but i would love to be able to utilize the music player as well because my ipod was stolen and I don't want to plunk down another $300 đŸ˜ŗ HELP!

After a week with this phone. . .

I've decided that I definitely just don't like flip phones. ☚ī¸ Especially sad given how much I like almost everything else about this phone.

I'll be requesting an unlock code, then probably selling it.

... unless nyone have an E65 or N73 they want to trade? 😉

over in the "Review: Nokia N75" discussion:

IS IT REALLY THAT BAD?

I have been waiting for weeks for Amazon to send me this phone. They had the best price when it launched ($50.00) but 5-7 week wait for delivery. Still have yet to receive it, but am not as excited now. I like all the phone features, but was unaware how huge the phone was or that there were so many audio issues, cheap build quality and poor battery life. I love Nokia phones, in my opinion they are the best in the industry, but now after waiting in anticipation, I feel I'm in for a big disappointment. Is it really that bad? really? After reading this review I feel I should be bracing for a string of problems and frustration. Also, what kinds of music files does it play? I see conflicting information on different web sites. Most of m...

CTI -Miami now has unlocked / unbranded N75 w/ A2DP

I talked to CTI-Miama.com and they have Nokia branded unlocked N75's and they double checked for me to make sure that they have A2DP. The catch is the $478. price tag. I am happy w/ the phone but I want A2DP so I am at day 27 and will return mine tomorrow and wait to see if the AT&T branded phones will have A2DP. đŸ‘ŋ

Anyone have email setup for AOL email account?

Just got my N75 yesterday. Got email setup ok, but when I delete an email from my phone you get the option of deleting from "phone" or "phone & server". If I choose phone, the email doesn't go away. If I choose phone & server the email is deleted from the phone and on my aol email account on my desktop (no record of the email anywhere, not even in recently deleted) which means if I accidently deleted on phone, there is no way to retrieve it. Anyone else experienceing this? Also, do you leave your mailbox connected all the time so you get notified as soon as you receive a new email or do you just connect and retrieve new emails every once in awhile?

thanks

opera mini and the photo blog

has anyone tried the "straight-to-blog" photo feature with the n75? I love this feature, but many phones do not allow the browser to "take control" of the camera....
Opera allows posting of pictures so easily while out and about.

Does anybody know the update configurations? It keeps saying that I have an incorrect password and I know if I call cingular, they would not be any help.

Cool Trick

Just tried a new thingy.
To change profile to silent, press R key on outside a cupula secs, then say silent, or outdoor, etc. Much simpler than opening phone or even pressing power button and scrolling.

Also works for bluetooth on and off, voicemail, camera, and voice recorder, AND you can setup your own apps like new message, medianet, etc..
It's under settings, then Voice Cm. or Menu #6 on my phone.

Hope you like that guys, wow!

OK, I broke down

As like all of you I have been waiting for the release of this phone. I went to the local cingy dealer I have done business with for some time and found that I was not eligible for an upgrade until Aug. My 6682 has started to act strange lately and I don't think it will make it that long. So, being a tech savvy and inerently lazy bum. I just purchased an N75 from ebay. Hope it gets here soon, because the trusty 6682 seems to be on it's last legs. I will keep everyone up to date with my opinions. If it matters.

N75 in Seattle market?

A cow-orker asked about my N75 & was inquiring about availability. I happened to look at the price list for stores and noticed that the N75 isn't listed for the Seattle market - anyone know if it's available out here & just doesn't show? Or. . .? Anyone know?

I got mine from Letstalk (for $199 without contract!), so it wasn't a problem for me, but I was wondering why I never saw them in stores.
