Oldest phone you've ever done troubleshooting for?

And I don't mean when it was new. I mean age at the time of troubleshooting. For example, today I just helped a customer with a Nokia 5190 from Voicestream Wireless (pre- T-Mobile). Not sure how old this one actually is, but I know it's the oldest one I've ever worked with!

Famous Customers

So I was just star-struck to help a four-time NBA Champion... Turned out to be a really nice guy.

What about you? Who have you met, and were they impressive?!

Sprint Store

Number 354.

You are on my list. See you in Silent Hill tonight. 😈

Further note: Please make sure that you get the LTS done right when you get a CoO; I don't like giving 100+ dollar credits because of your FUBAR.

Sweeties

...don't call my company wanting me to listen to you practice your auditions for American idol. You sound very sweet, very desperate and lonely, but hon, I have to do my job.

Don't know where your parents are, but calling random companies to audition/have us listen to music isn't okay.

English lesson

When I tell you your passcode must be 4-8 NUMERIC characters, "BigHossJoeBlow6969" is not a qualified passcode. Let's look up the words: "numeric", "four" and "eight" in the dictionary and try it again.

Sprint, is it too much to ask

I work in a vendor call center for Sprint customer care. More and more lately I'm getting customer questions that I can't answer via the various tools we have. The information is either out of date or absent. My supervisor isn't helpful, and help desk doesn't know either. I am a knowledge junkie. I hate not knowing something. Even worse, looking like a fool to a customer.

I do not know who to ask for the information I lack, or who to report the lack of information to. No one has the time to be helpful in our call center it seems.

*seriously frustrated*

Time to find a new Job!

I just had a very very special Customer Care rep call me to help a customer with accepting the Terms and Conditions for an Iphone...

explained that we don't sell this phone over the phone (as everyone knows) and I could not assist with activating the phone...

rep explained that she just wanted to transfer the customer even though I would not have been able to help...

maybe she realised how dumb she was because while I was asking my sup who would be able to help the rep disconnected...

I hope you are reading this... you are a retard. Find A New Job!

Im not even kidding you...

This didn't happen to me but the person sitting right next next to me...

Rep: so when we hang up press and hold the one (1) key and it will call your voicemail.

Cust: When you say press and hold the one (1) key, Do you mean press and hold the one key?

NOT EVEN KIDDING THATS WHAT SHE SAID!

Rep: Um, Yeah that's what i mean. 🤣

LG Vortex

In comparison to the higher end Droids what do you lose function wise besides processor speed and camera quality?

I want to like the Vortex on the way it is styled and its size

Raised sales goal...

For the month that will determine the sales bonus on the check right before Christmas.

Now we get to sell harder to make the same bonuses we made last month! Woo!

No More Mand. OT*

*for one day.

Last Friday, word was announced that mandatory overtime would be lifted, and every employee was back on their normal chedules.

Yesterday, that went into effect.

Today, mandatory overtime was reinstated, along with the possibility of increasing the amount of extra hours.

If I had no life, this would truly be no issue. But with 15+ hours/week of schooling, there has become no time for anything else. Added to the fact that they've raised goals in every area and lowered the pay for meeting those goals, we're pretty much living to maximize their bonuses.

Custy: Can this phone go on the internet?

Me: Yes, in fact every phone in this store is web-enabled. Is that something that's important to you?

At this point the customer starts to leave stating that he doesn't want a phone that uses the internet. I calmly explain that it merely has the ability to use it, for people that need it. There is no forced usage, nor is it in your face or easily accessible.

Custy gets angry and says he doesn't need it, and says that half the phones over at Radio Shack don't "have the internet" and he should have just stayed over there, then bolts.

Dude, E-V-E-R-Y AT&T phone can go on the web. The guy at Radio Shack is preying on your ignorance. You can't ignore technology and just have it go away. You're just like those people who refuse to buy pho...

Contrary to popular belief

I work in a retail store, not a warehouse. Just because the people over the phone offered to send you a DSL modem filter, doesn't mean we carry them in the store.

We also do not carry: backs to phones, batteries to phones that are 8,000 years old, home phones, televisions, laptops without getting service attached, fly swatters, the Razr...etc

I can't belive it

But the callers are stupider today than ever.
I've had 2 people that can't use their new phones.
Have you activated them yet?
No.

I've had someone who's phone won't work, halfway through troubleshoointg, they tell me they've locked their sim, would that have anything to do with?
Yes
