Custy: Can this phone go on the internet?

Me: Yes, in fact every phone in this store is web-enabled. Is that something that's important to you?

At this point the customer starts to leave stating that he doesn't want a phone that uses the internet. I calmly explain that it merely has the ability to use it, for people that need it. There is no forced usage, nor is it in your face or easily accessible.

Custy gets angry and says he doesn't need it, and says that half the phones over at Radio Shack don't "have the internet" and he should have just stayed over there, then bolts.

Dude, E-V-E-R-Y AT&T phone can go on the web. The guy at Radio Shack is preying on your ignorance. You can't ignore technology and just have it go away. You're just like those people who refuse to buy pho...

Is there any phone sold now by any rspectable carrier that does NOT have web access?

No. There is the option to block data though which means NO data can be accessed obviously, just like a phone without data capabilites.

There is a difference in that phones have to have gps enabled and lphones that can go on the internet. Actually there are phones with no internet ability available. They are be marketed for just such people. Still have gps enabled as required by law. No was around the gps. Is required for enhanced 911 services
